New Light on 1914

The thought is that Stephen, (next week's scheduled bible reading) was the first of the 144 000 sealed, martyred ones.

You are right, the sealing takes place while they are still on earth, part of one of the 12 tribes of the ISRAEL OF GOD.

aka the Christian congregation, which is made up, btw, of the sheep of Israel and the other GENTILE sheep. the one flock.

144,000 as Kings and Priests Really? or not?

in revelation chapters 7 and 14 there it talks about the 144k but says nothing of them being kings and priests.

in revelation chapter 5 and 20 it mentions ones being kings and judges, but if you notice in chapter 20 verse 4-5 it talks about martyrs coming to life judging and reigning with jesus, not the 144k specifically.

in verse 5-6 talks about the first resurrection and that all that share in this first resurrection will be priests of god and of jesus and they will reign for a thousand years.. so notice in revelation chapters 7 and 19 a great crowd is mentioned being alive standing before the throne standing at the same time as the 144k are mentioned.

The 144 000 COME "OUT" OF the 12 tribes, they are SEALED, not anointed as WT says., they are first fruits, first born;-- bought FROM THE EARTH.

Your good point is that the whole nation of Israel was a kindom of priests, the same as are ALL Christians, not just the 144 k sealed ones.

ALL 12 tribes were in the LAW covenant, ALL CHristians are in the NEW covenant. Only KIngs were in the DAVIDIC covenant, only the 144000 are in the KINGDOM COVENANT. WT denies this.

The 12 spiritual tribes of REV.7 are all christians on earth, The Israel of God.

WT says erroneously the 144 k are the Israel of God, no, it is total members of the 12 tribes, 12 000 sealed plus the rest of that tribe.

The 144 k are the martyrs. like Jesus was, close to him even in heaven.

try to work with that.

I am totally confoused who is the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class?

i have been hearing and reading on websites about some "new light" jws are saying concerning the faithful and discreet slave class.

it sounds like the same information they have been saying for years.

i was always taught the faithful and discreet slave class is the annoited governing body members dispensing food at the proper time for the non annoited jws.

re: only 40,50 of the 144 000 supplying spiritual teaching. 3 explanations to that:

1) the old teaching was right, while the Brooklyn Headquarters house the FDS today, so did every generation of christians had teachers. they are just the latter day bunch.

2) the 144 000, fellow rulers with christ are not the F&DS at all, but are the sealed ones, martyrs killed by the ax, having that sealed fate. Re.7, Rev.20. its wt doctrine that rolls all this into one.

3) the apporx. 143 992 that were resurrected in heaven in 1918 !!! are waiting out their newly found immortality to have these 8 or so receive the award, just before Armageddon in their RAPTURE at that future time, for all of them , so that they can also have some of that power, of course that waiting, secondary group includes the bible writers, real hard workers and martyrs too. WoW what arrogance. no wonder,

as you pointed out they do not use want to the first person in their writing. If you "told it like it is" it really would sound gross. it is gross. Back home we have a rhime, proverb: self aggrandizement STINKS. the same word in both languages.

re Christians ruling christians no scripture found: to the contrary: 1Cor.4:8 "--you have began to rule as KINGS [ALREADY] without us have you [GB]--?

120 years is the best life span for any or all of the myriad body systems we have. Hopefully he had the brain/mind as one of them to take in the whole show.

Like many his age, he probably starved during the war years, and that will allow you to live on.
