What is life?

when i was a jobo, i used to thing of 'life without end at laaaasssssst'.. having been on my journey out of the wbt$ slaveholdery, i have found that something that makes sense is that life doesn't owe us a meaning.

psalms 146:4 was actually bangeth on the money-eth 'his breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.'.

although i am now very atheist, and really do not even think there is the remotest possibility of a god, that bible passage is correct.

Anyway since time isn't necessarily the immutable stream we sometimes thought it might be.

Time is not a stream but a dimension through which you might move. (depending on your speed, acceleration) Life has to move through time, because it can not exist at the speed of light, or in a black hole, where movement through time ceases. Movement through time made evolution our emergence possible. Life is moving through time past our death to sharpen the human race. It is not called a race for nothing, the race through time.

Has anyone out here read Thomas Paine's "Age of Reason"?

i wish i had read this back when i was 18. it's an amazing take down of religious beliefs, the bible, and religion in general.

) a "reason"-able manner.take this quote, from near the beginning:.

when also i am told that a woman, called the virgin mary, said, or gave out, that she was with child without any cohabitation with a man, and that her betrothed husband, joseph, said that an angel told him so, i have a right to believe them or not: such a circumstance required a much stronger evidence than their bare word for it: but we have not even this; for neither joseph nor mary wrote any such matter themselves.

Yeah, life is an accident waiting to happen, it was staged, a set up, a distinct possibility, inevitable even, given the energy, matter and laws that came through the big bang creation event.

In the sterile Universe, life has taken on a life of it's own, riding a wave of energy. It is like a relay race, on a crowded track, get the finished racers out of the way, a race driven by the joy of living.

Is not true that he wrote that while in a french prison, awaiting an uncertain fate among the chaos of the revolution, thinking this might be his last word?, Writing in prison isolation he had amazing grasp of the details of the scriptural oddities he refuted. a must read.

"You Wouldn't Believe How Many Have Crawled Back To The Meetings"

that's a comment i heard from an elder i haven't seen in over a decade, yesterday.

i mentioned it all on my other thread.

i responded that i knew of no one that was crawling back to the meetings and gave him an incredulous hearty chuckle.

"crawling"? That is probably how some elders view their "sheep " arriving for meetings anyway, all dressed and dolled up in deference to them, the glorious ones. Fishers of men, there are actually crawling fish, mudskippers. crawling mudskippers, caught in "the fishnet".

it occurred to me the other day...the society is loading us up on all types of ways to reach others....jw.org, all types of literature, all types of different ideas, maybe you could use the tools jehovah gave us this way or perhaps you can use it that way, maybe you can volunteer, maybe you can go where the need is greater, maybe you can give more $$$, maybe you can give more time, maybe you can look at how you can be in the ministry more, maybe you can meditate more, maybe you can do this or that for your family study, maybe you can talk to a seasoned witness & find out how they.....& i know there are tons of other things maybe we can do....or yes, forgot this one, maybe you can quit your job....then maybe you can get some rest, because you can't serve jehovah when you are tired.

how can you get more rest if, you don't have no money to live indoors...anyway, with all these maybe's we can do..... it came to my mind that the gb isn't here as of yet & it seems the org.

is pressing the friends for bible studies...they are saying....we are giving you all these tools & so why are you not getting bible studies or return visits...it's almost as if they are brow-beating us...do more because the society has given you more...it's not us, folks just ain't listening to us at the door any more....they are not even opening up the door.

tThe tools provided are useless , even if they are on electronic devices. in the developed world anyway, and so are the constant unrealistic demonstrations in the hall about how to use them. and the invitation campaigns. useless for their aims, except to keep the jws hamsters busy. A holy horde accumulating a hoard of "hours"

Around 100 billion people have died

according to some, the earth may have 10 billion people living on it by the end of this century.

there is genuine concern about space and resources.. imagine, then, 100 billion people being resurrected to live on earth.

some jws will argue that not everyone will be resurrected to earth, including 144,000. imagine 50 billion then, assuming that half of the people who ever lived did something so horrific that they aren't deemed worthy to be resurrected.. jws who are lurking and reading this: where are they going to live?

During my bible study I was told that if necessary, Jehovah could always make the earth bigger.

or make the people smaller, Anyway we are safe, The resurrected ones always seem to live on the other side of these mountains in those wt paradise renderings. Godd things that they don't marry and have children.
