The Privilege of Handling the Microphones

one of the most unbelievable privileges that a brother could have was being a microphone handler.

elders would discuss brothers for hours and see whether or not we would allow them to mow the lawn or handle a mike.

i always felt that these brothers were doing us a favor but if they didn't get a minimum of 10 hours in per month, they were dog crap and couldn't have any privileges.

ha ha ha Yes, they always said that we should do as much as we can. Then you get to realize there exists a certain quota. ;-)

have you ever had to deal with the thought that you really weren't that good of an example?

perhaps, the congregation was encouraged to pioneer or reach out for bethel service or go to seldom worked territory, etc.

and when you applied, you were told that you didn't qualify.

The Myth of Unconditional Love

many well-meaning persons believe that the ideal state of love and relationship between two persons is one that is unconditional.

this is simply referred to as unconditional love and what is meant by a person subscribing to this belief is simply that: no conditions are attached to my loving you wholly.

I agree with you. You are such a romanticist. I thought only we, women are the only romantic and emotional species. ;-) But now I believe that men could be as sensitive as we are. ;-)

I also believe all kinds of love ( love for your pet, mother's love, lover's love, father's love, love for your siblings....etc.) can be unconditional. ;-)

I have been to Boston a few times. I still remember the Museum of Fine Art and Boston Common. ;-)

My brother, who was never a JW, went to school in Boston. Which school are you going? He went to Boston University.

Speaking of publications,

I noticed that in my CD ROM, there are only 2 publications from 1960s. One was I think "All scriptures inspired..."

I wonder why all of sudden the WTS seised to publish in that decade. Does anyone know why?????

i started reading ex-jw internet boards like this about 3 or 4 years ago.

at that time, i had been out of the organisation - and perfectly happy - for about twenty years.

and one day during a slow afternoon in the office - i typed "jehovah" into a search engine (something that had never occurred to me before in my many years online prior to that) and wham!

you know i was very content to just sit back on my dark throne of fire and let everything fall into place but jesus christ had to come along and mess things up for me.. i saw his post about how the jehovahs witnesses are not affiliated with him and god and yes it is true they are right.

for the record the group known as jehovahs witnesses are under my command and do my bidding.

as you well know they use fear to convert their members.
