The Dragon Slayer
by silentlambs inthis was posted in my guestbook and i thought i would share it.
loris was threatened by two elders who were sent by wt, with df for her letter to newsweek if she said anything more publicly about the child abuse issue.
i believe this mother of eight has more courage in her little finger than those elders do in their whole body.

DO you REALLY think this is THE END OF JW's?
by minimus ineverytime a new revelation comes to the board, some suggest that this is the big one.
whether it be the blood issue, the u n debacle, the silentlambs saga, some cryptic comment about jw's and their involvement with churches, it seems like nothing effects the jehovah's witnesses rank and file.
personally.

Regarding fewer followers:
In the last Dist. Assembly I noticed very fewer attendants compare to a few years ago. This dist. has been known as one of the biggest in Northern Cal.: average of 11,000 attendance. But this year there were barely 9,000 attendance, and only 20 - 30 baptismal candidates. It used to be more than 100 in the 90s. I told my mom (reg.pioneer), and she said that she was told by an elder that the Society reorganized the distr. so that not too many people would gather at the same place. Hmmm...strange, when I saw the convention schedule, there were not more English assemblies at least at the Cow Palace in SF.
Regarding hillary_step's post:
In every assembly they announced how much money is short in covering the cost. For example, in the intermission, they said that so far they have $5,000 in contribution box, but the cost for the assembly was $10,000. Of course good hearted JWs would put more money into their boxes. So I guess I'm kinda confused whether they were losing or profeiting through these assemblies.

WHICH MEETING WAS THE MOST BORING?
by minimus inthe more meetings you go to the more drivel you hear.
elder's meetings were terrible because all you ever did was gossip about how everyone wasn't doing this or that.
meetings for field service sucked.....enough said on that.

By the way years ago, a brother told me that he knew a guy who was not "good enough" to be a MS in a congregation. He got so fed up that he moved to a different congregation, and guess what? Next thing he knew, this not-so-good bro was working side by side with the Gov. Body at the Watchtower corporation. I guess you need some connection to be up there, too, just like any other corporation in the world.
