1986 international year of peace. 1996 year of peace also, wasn't it?.so wrong and cruel to use scare tactics to coerce flock to obey and panic into accepting more propaganda. So many have died and so many left without spousal support because they trusted the GB. Lonely widows and divided families. The true legacy of a pick and mix publishing corporation.

The great tribulation is now coming VERY soon!
by The Searcher inwatchtower october 2017, par 11, page 28 - "very soon the political powers of satan’s world will form a coalition that is bent on the destruction of god’s people.
's] have anything to fear?
not at all!........at that critical moment during the great tribulation, the angelic soldiers of jehovah of armies will come together to protect god’s people..."[j.w.'s].

The Satisfying Decline Of My Old Congregations Donations
by pale.emperor inaccording to the uk charity commission, my old kingdom hall is hemorrhaging money and less is coming in.
long may it continue.. any ideas what a crappy, run down, shack of a kh spends £49,472.87 on in three years?
they were praying for a new hall for about 10 years until bethel basically stole it off them to build warwick.. .

Locally my old congregation has been dissolved this year and amalgamated with the original congregation. The accounts don't look healthy either...Ominous. (Devon)

The bizarreness of Genesis 6:2
by doubtfull1799 in"the sons of the true god began to notice that the daughters of men were beautiful.
so they began taking as wives all whom they chose.".
it may be feasible to some to accept the bible's assertion that the first humans were tempted to pursue independence from god, especially since they were created in his image and he is independent from any authority.

This has often intrigued me. Why/How did spirit angelic creatures materialze human male bodies and have relations with females? Does this imply that they could create bodies too? If such angels did cross over to the human realm and indulge in the flesh, and create male bodies, then are there more Satans than just the one 'main' one?..How did Satan become the 'demon' boss?...questions......!

I have known kind elders in the past who genuinely did do much for friends and neighbours. The elder who first studied with me, sadly passed away 10 years ago now, did much to help me personally. He would fix anything for neighbours and others, and took time out to help where needed. Sadly, recently appointed elders, ( once sons of elders themselves), seem to display a very selfish spirit, and only put a show of kindness on when they know it can be observed. I know of one or two elderly sisters, who hving lost their husbands tread a lonely path in the street as they failed to make any friends outside the JW establishment. What a waste of potential...

Crossing the Elders
by Cold Steel infew things draw my interest as much as people on this board who talk about the elders, the insidious little toadies who lurk around kingdom halls, the proverbial big fish in little ponds.
it amazes me the terror and the veneration they inspire, as well as the occasional ridicule.
it makes me wonder how they're selected and whether most of them come into the position with a sense of power, entitlement, authority and control, or whether many of them are pretty nice people and that i'm just hearing about the bad apples?

I've known some truly good elders over the years, sadly, some have since passed away. They genuinely cared about others, and made time to help where needed. They avoided being judgmental ( one characteristic of a poor elder) and always made themselves available to talk to , and didn't divulge matters to wives or family, thus feeding the gossip. Sadly, around the time I left, bad elders were much in evidence. Seeking glory for themselves and almost boasting, very much typiying the 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' mantra..... One recently appointed elder ( a nepotisitic appointment..) regularly sought praise for 'donating' sound equipment etc to the congregation. Such a shame.. I've learnt to my cost that many latterday elders cannot be trusted ...They're corporate men.

2017 Convention Video To Be Shown Regarding The 1975 Failure
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go3arnnsfkk&feature=youtu.be.
no mention whatsoever that it was watchtower themselves that strongly hinted towards this date.
instead they blame those who "put their trust in a date, not jehovah".. let's recap... .

This is simply amazing. How dare they try and rewrite history and adopt the denial mode. How dare they try and blame their trusting elders and congregations for highlighting 1975. Younger ones might be tempted to fall for this spin but anyone over 40 years old is not so easily fooled....Shame on the GB. Shame. -

Satan persecutes, Jehovah protects... Pays your money and take your choice. JWs might also revive the old kings of north/south idea and claim that Russia is the King of north and is banning them to prevent them from identifying Russia as that king.... Whatever happens, JWs will twist/use it to bolster doctrines old and new..Perhaps Russia is engaged in public protection from religion. So many of the world's wars/terrorism stem from religion. Very much a case of being the wound and not the bandage it often claims....

August 2017 Watchtower - Screwing with J.W.'s minds again
by The Searcher inin the latest issue of double-speak, i'd like to highlight these two statements:.
page 3, par.
2 - "...how encouraging it is to know that jehovah’s faithful servants in the past felt free to express the same question that may loom in our minds, and they were not condemned for asking it!
-
westiebilly11
The clue is the phrase ' in the past'... Ok then, but not ok now to exercise free thinking. Hence the following phrase ' may loom in our mind'. Keep such thoughts in the mind, not in public domain.
