what I'm finding harder to deal with in the two years since I left is trying to forgive myself for making our three children ( now very much grown up) attend meetings..I'm sorry that I dragged them to sit through talk after talk and demo after demo etc etc...and they were so well behaved and complied 'to please daddy'....the time lost to them can never be restored. I wish I had seen the ttatt years ago and enjoyed more of what a real loving father should do with his children..to them I can only say 'sorry'.

i left several years ago and have not been hounded, bothered or sought out by anyone.
i still see them from time to time, and yes, they do pour out the love bomb when you run into them, but eh, you know what?

The Sept 15 WT " Are You Convinced That You Have The Truth? Why?
by BluesBrother inthis article title leapt out at me and i thought that at last we may see some solid argument as to why the wt teaches what it does, some "reasoning on the scriptures ".. well... the theme scripture set a good scene, being rom 12.2 " prove to yourself the good and acceptable and perfect will of god" .
ok , let's prove it - logically.. the article starts by citing the witnesses neutrality and refusal to bear arms as a reason to believe.
now i happen to agree with that stand , but is it unique to j w's ?

midweek meetings critical for them as a way of controlling/restraining the younger ones. It prevents any individualism and chokes doubts by reinforcing doctrinal propaganda...and with the ministry school it gives them a platform to 'shine'....good for self esteem..

there are some ticking timebombs.........child abuse scandal....elders ( not just one but entire body of) concealing evidence from police.....money grabbing exercises ....duff prophecies...fading light....monotonous routines.....boring meetings..youngsters being warned off higher education and careers.....internet age with masses of info for the doubting...it all adds up to a decline sooner or later. The whole elder arrangement is nothing more than an exclusive men's club......it surprises me that women put up with their neglible roles in the cong. Even cults run out of puff....eventually.

A few bad apples hey?
by sparrowdown ina witness couple just called on me.
they know i have'nt been to the hall for a few months but have no idea that i am "off reservation" in more ways than one.. they called by to tell me they that due to the "unloving spirit" in our.
congregation they will be going to another hall from now on.. the husband has been having ongoing "issues" with the cobe for some time ( iow,he hates his guts).. they feel that if they move to another cong where the people are nicer everything will be ok. (yeah, right).

rotten apples?...whole orchard is rotten. Here in uk the recent/current abuse cover up scandal has shown me and others that far from being 'gifts in men' and 'big trees of refreshment' and 'shepherds of the flock' elders etc are not fit for purpose and by extension the congregational arangement stinks. Love?..Justice?...if you're hoping to find such qualities in the congregation be prepared to be disappointed. Sure, there are genuinely nice people...but they would be equally nice if they were out in world too... Personally I have known some very peculiar elders with really distorted views of what life is about.

by Kensho inwhen...... 1) we follow christ example not the gb.
2) stop df'ing those for challenging current or past doctrine and allow us to use our god given gift of reason and free wil.
sure kick out the scumbags even the lions club have rules for membership, but not those who just use their brains and consience.. 3) get rid of the nonsensical blood teaching that has cost the lives of thousands and beg god for forgiveness.

cover ups....shredding of evidence....denials....conspiring to pervert the course of justice....seems to me that the whole elder set up is not fit for purpose and not worthy of any respect from within or outside the org.
