Ozzie,Comf said it so very well.....I'm always amazed that believers think those of us who don't subscribe to some transcendent being ruling our lives, are spiritually depressed and empty...that couldn't be further from the truth,,,it's the height of folly and unfairness to label ags/aths as such. That implies religious belief as an unadulterated good and agnostic/atheism as evil....or religion as the only way to have a fulfilling, rich, rewarding life,,so untrue.....I prefer reason, rational thinking personal responsibility and accountability to superstition, myth, the supernatural. I think I would have arrived at the place I'm at no matter what belief system previously. These have been the happiest, most rewarding, fulfilling years of my life(since leaving).......if my work, research, investigation, self assessments have brought me here, what is so terrible about that? Why is condesending pity given to those of us,who proudly stand on a different road? Why do you think that place is 'less' than anyone elses place?(in this world)...
I ramble,Comf,ANNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKK,beautifully said,your thoguths echo mine.....regards,Tina

"He that loves me will OBEY my commandment...
by AGuest into the household of god, israel, that is on jw.com, and all those who 'got with' them:.
may you have peace!.
because israel has, at this 'season' fallen asleep with regard to many 'things' that our lord, the son of god, jah-eshua mischa-jah ("jah saves"; messiah - "chosen of jah"), 'commanded' us to teach others (matthew 28:20), i am compelled by the spirit of my father, the holy one of israel, jah of armies (psalm 68:4), that is in me, by means of my lord, to remind israel of one of such commandments.. on the night that he was put to death in the flesh, our lord gave a commandment, to which he stated "keep doing this in remembrance of me.

I Think That I Chose My Parents.
by Englishman indo you believe in reincarnation?.
i dont think i believe in it in the same way that most believers do, which is that we keep coming back in different fleshly bodies until we have achieved perfection.. i do, however, strongly suspect that we may well be spirit creatures who find it necessary to inhabit a fleshly body from time to time, and that this entails us having to leave behind most of our past memories.. i say most memories, because many people seem to have some vestigal recollections that don`t seem to fit in with earthly experiences.. i`m pretty sure that i chose my parents!
i have a recollection of being shown a young and kind couple through some form of astral telescope and choosing to become their son.

Hi Wendy,
There is a lot of science pertaining to love and other emotions out there. Harry Harlow comes to mind, I suggest SInger and Schacter as well, that work has to do with with the subjective experience of such emotion, being the result of integrating information from current social context, past experiences and autonomic arousal.....there's lots more out there, but I'm not anywhere near my personal library at the moment.......it's interesting reading, regards,Tina -

The "Ransom Sacrifice" short version.
by Norm inin the christian part of the world not many of us have escaped the much hyped and published sacrifice christ supposedly made when the romans executed him.. i myself was going around for years parroting this strange concept without giving it much thought.
thinking and faith some times do not mix very well.. anyway, apparently god made a royal blunder when he created the first humans and they plunged mankind into death and despair first crack out of the box, while god stood by and watched helplessly.
then we are told that god for this reason, in his infinite wisdom took mankind for ransom for thousands of years.

Hi Jan,
Good decription of how ghastly Ebola is......I think the case your speaking of was the Ebola Zaire(yambuku) strain...1980....that along with Marburg,Lassa CCHF(Crimean Congo Hemmorhagic fever) etc etc etc, should make one wonder about any so-called benevolent being.....just an odd fact for ya here, the index case that began the Ebola spread in Zaire(Kikwit village)1995 was a Jehovahs Witness named Gaspard Menga Kitanbala.......something I came across...cheers,Tina -

A polite request to LURKERNOMORE
by Focus inin the thread "wt leader admits being demon possessed" http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=3720&site=3 and in every other thread in which tallyman has participated that i have read, you have ruthlessly and remorselessly attacked him.. don't you think he has been punished enough?
the courts had all the information, the prosecution worked very hard - and a jury of his peers found him not guilty of any offense.
and they had far more information than you do.. because you are weasel-wording, the smear you are attempting and perpetrating just might fall short of actionable libel - i do not know.
-
Tina
wrong lurker,Tally has been thru the court system, the judgement was made to his benefit, therefore the burden of proof is no longer something he needs to do. So what you're doing is in fact, libelous.
Your opinion does not supercede that of the legal system. You obviously dont like the judgement, too bad for you. You're lack of empathy, conscience, and class shows how well you've been taught by the wts. And even if you've left, the thinking certainly hasn't left you....Work on it,Tina
