I'm a former JW and well aware of what they put on their w/s.....I'm also cognizant of the HLC's.......the WT would like people to think because of them,bloodless surgery has advanced,,,it's for larger more global reasons,such as drops in blood donations.
I don't think much of the HLC,I personally think it's unethical what they do,from amedical standpoint.
In reference to your Nigerian comment,again I'll say yes they give out info on blood,but they DO NOT present the whole objective unbiased picture.....remember they have an agenda. Medicine does not have an agenda based on specious policies such as the wts.

Interesting thoughts going on here :>....
Just a thought to stephen,I think it's misleading to say they are in the forefront of blood research......nothing could be further from the truth......what they do is take existing medical data,pick and choose from it to back up their blood policy...they distort other legitimate medical data to suit them as well..they in way,offer the r/f an honest objective picture of the whole medical issue.......
The term forefront of blood research(to an average non-JW reader) also implies that they are actively involved in the laboratorial aspects of said issue,of which they are not........just a few thoughts on that term,regards,Tina -

Mom's been tryin to call me,she sent a note!,but I think that's all it's for is the memorial,thos she did send cookies and treats for me-she can be so sweet when she wants to,,,,,if she does ask,I will have to gently refuse,as I have in the past.......the last time I went,about 4/5 yrs ago,I felt like such a hypocrite,,,,,,,,,I just can't do that anymore.......

by Norm inin the christian part of the world not many of us have escaped the much hyped and published sacrifice christ supposedly made when the romans executed him.. i myself was going around for years parroting this strange concept without giving it much thought.
thinking and faith some times do not mix very well.. anyway, apparently god made a royal blunder when he created the first humans and they plunged mankind into death and despair first crack out of the box, while god stood by and watched helplessly.
then we are told that god for this reason, in his infinite wisdom took mankind for ransom for thousands of years.

by Tanalyst inover 30 years ago i was forced as a jw kid to listen to,"the end will come in the fall of 1974 or 1975.as a reader of the bible i knew christ said," no man knows the day or hour".. i constantly doubted this 1975 garbage, but was still subjected to listen to it.the co. fred plumhoff would say on sunday, in his closing remarks," we don't know if next time we see each will be in new system or not.
" the anxiety it caused was high.. i'm reading from the harriet lane handbook from the johns hopkins hospital.
on page 556 under obsessive-compulsive disorder it states.

Hi tana,
There is a realm of thought that sees OCD as a personalitys attempt to reduce severe anxiety due to biological/hereditary or enviornmental causes,,,I agree w/ larc about cog/beh therapy, but many times that in conjunction w/ medication......clomipramine and certain anti-depressants have been shown to be quite effective. In the case of obsessional thoughts, medication makes one more accessible to therapy by reducing the level of anxiety,panic,and depression thus allowing one to focus better on the theraputic strategy at hand,,,,an 'umbrella' approach you can call it :> just my thoughts,regards,Tina -

Why are there more sisters than brothers?
by expatbrit init is generally acknowledged, and confirmed by experience, that there is a significant gender imbalance in the organisation.. there are considerably more sisters than there are brothers.
that's great for the brothers, because a lot of the poor jw lasses get so desperate that even the most dorky of brothers can take his pick.. but why is there this imbalance?.
it's true that birth rates show slightly more females being born than males (mother nature's way of safeguarding the future?
