Shamus, if I get into the whole thing with the treatment of the elders, I will just get mad. But, I will tell you this, no, I didn't go to them for help, *that's what made them mad* and no they did not help me.

Yesterday we bought our Very First Christmas Tree!
by cruzanheart inwell, actually, i did, but with the blessings of the family.
it's fake (too many allergies in the house to risk a real one), pre-lit, and 7 feet tall.
i think it's going to be gorgeous.

Valis, that's neat with what you're doing with your kids. My sister done that with her kids. They're grown now and she has all these wonderful ornaments from when they were little. She puts them on her tree every year! You're a good daddy!

After 22 years I've found my brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by tyydyy inmy brother went to bethel as a teenager and was disfellowshipped and sent home.
he tried to toe the line and after 6 months the local congregation recommended reinstatement.
bethel didn't like that idea.

Just reading that article was scary. Makes me shiver!
I remember counting down the years to 1975 on my fingers when I was little. *sigh* Got baptised at 13 in 1973 with my mother, so we would be ready in 1975!!! Dropping out of high school in 1974 to aux pioneer so I would be ready for 1975! After the big A didn't come in 1975 I went back to high school. I know people thought I was crazy!
Scary to know that people still are buying into that crap.

thank you all my defenders
by Mulan inhi to all who defended me on that other board.. i came home today to nine pm's, all defending me from the personal attacks on me, on another board.
i am still in shock, but i do appreciate the words of those who defended me.. one gal called me and told me she had five phone calls from others expressing shock over the way i was being maligned on the other board.. i am fine, and dealing with it.
i guess we all need to expect to be criticized.

Actually I'm afraid to jump in here, .....I don't know what's going on at the other board.....didn't know there was *another* board, but Mulan I hope you're doing okay. I did catch the part about your mother being ill and I do hope she is doing better. I know what it's like to have a sick mama. Is she out of the hospital?

by Rick Aust insorry if this is a sad question, but i know of 3 jw's that have suicided.
i haven't known any personally, but i was wondered if you know any or know of any jw's that have suiced?
and do you know the reason why?

I know of a brother that took his life about 10 years ago. My sister-in-laws twin brother took his life last year. He was a elder.
My father also took his life in Oct. of 1996. Tryed many times to be a witness, but couldn't quit smoking.
I deleted alot that I wrote, it was hard to write, so I thought it might be too hard to read. That's all I'll say for now.

work has been very stressful and my attempts to make new friends outside of the jw's have been mostly futile.
the people i work with are immature and are more interested in the latest office gossip and whose doing what than anything else.

Most of us here know what it is like to miss someone in our family and I hope you've gained some support from all these wonderful posts! I have several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews that I miss terribly. I hope one day they will change their views. Do hang in there and draw comfort in knowing that many many people do care about you!

Mort, I know exactly how you feel! Our home got broken into about a month ago. I'm so sorry that this happened to you! They have the nerve, don't they!!!!!! NOW we have a security system! Got a good system and we feel alittle better, but I'm still so upset, I can't see straight. It feels like someone punched you in the stomach.
