CC and I read both of Ray's books. They were the final insturments that caused us to see the WTS for what it was. Bill has opened the door and made it possible for many to come out and speak up about abuse within the WTS. Both these men are just that....men. Imperfect men who have made mistakes in their life, like everyone else here. We've ALL been through alot and we're doing the best we can! As it was said eariler, why beat a dead horse. I wish Bill had never posted what he did about Ray and he probably wishes he hadn't either, but you have to remember, he's been through alot of presure and rejection from the WTS. We all behave differently than we normally would when we are under a great deal of pressure. I remember when my father took his life, my whole family acted in ways that we would have never acted. As I look back, I apologized for things, even when I wasn't in the wrong, but I did it for the sake of peace. To me, it was worth it to be *happy* rather than push the issue of being *right*. I think all this name calling is uncalled for and only discredits your comments. Yes, Bill started all this, but what do some of you want? Would it make you happy if we took him out and stoned him to death? For God's sake, lighten up! It's like everyone is turning on each other like a pack of wolves! If I had wanted all this bullshit, I would have stayed in the org.

Hug me and go to hell..........
by Dawn inweird subject title, i know - but let me explain................. i am df'd (12+ yrs now) so when my father (an elder) passed away last year i was shunned by everyone but one sister who came up and hugged me.
since the funeral, whenever i run into her she always gives me a hug - nice i thought.. then last week i run into her at the supermarket - she gives me a hug and then makes a joke saying "guess i'm going to hell now".........so i replied...."really?
that's too bad because i won't be there".

I just had an extremely embarrassing moment!

LB, I don't understand why she would want to be reinstated to begin with. I swear, I just don't get it. After the way I was treated by the elders back in 1999, there was no way that I wanted to be part of a organization that treated people like that. I wont get into the whole thing, but after what I went through, there was NO WAY I wanted to be a part of it! Even at the risk of losing my j.w. family. I just hope that one day they will open their eyes and get out too! Doubt that will happen, but you never know!!!

when i spoke by phone recently with the author of that presentation, and pointed out that i had never expressed the views presented, his comment was that from his previous conversation with me (held some months earlier) he "got the impression that i was not on the same wave length" with him.

Well after it's all said and done, the bottom line is this.....Bill should apologize to Ray. Work this out.
Bill it's time to show what you're made of. I believe it takes a big person to do this. I hope this can be cleared up.
