When I did my personal research, I realised that Avoid does use incognito members to assist with writing their articles and to obtain confidential documents. The "Miss Usato" is a pseudonym and I believe her first language isn't English. Although it is an excellent resource to obtain the latest information and documentation in JW land, it wouldn't surprise me if they solicit for their website from exjws. I did find that they had a "donate" page, which now shows an error message if you click on it. I reckon they received some negative backlash.

So let me get this right: AvoidJW is a bad site because although it is an excellent resource for the latest information and documentation that is offered completely and utterly free, people shouldnt send files to avoidjw because the writers use pseudonyms - one of which might not be an English speaker - and because they have a donation page that doesn't work? So based on your clarity of mind, you think this equates to some sort of link to Lloyd "can't keep his willy in his pants" Evans, and that there was a backlash to requesting donations. What evidence do you have for this series of brain farts?

Let me be clear here:

1. We have no link to Lloyd Evans or anyone linked to him. We absolutely distance ourselves from that pervert.

2. All writers for AvoidJW receive no monetary gain for their articles. We don't have money to pay them. They give of their time, and people like Miss Usato spends hours preparing her articles. How much time did you spend writing your nonsensical post that has zero evidence, zero credibility, and is 100% bullshit?

3. We have a broken donation page, not because anyone complained, but because it broke during an update of the site. There is no conspiracy.

4. Every day, thousands of people visit the site. Some come for the articles and some for the documents. Every day 100s, even thousands of files are downloaded from the site. All at no cost to anyone. Not even you. How do you think.this is funded?

5. AvoidJW has been in operation since 2014. We had a great working relationship with Atlantis over the years. He and Petra shared many files with us. They have been sharing files for about 30 years and their work too is under-appeeciated. Did you know that it was Atlantis that helped AvoidJW get every single magazine from the 1800s to present out to the public? I'm sure your research doesn't go that far.

6. Do you know how AvoidJW is funded? Did you figure it out in all the research you did? Did you find out how much it costs to host a site as large as it, with as many files that it has on there? We have almost 8TB of documents, publications and videos. We'd love to share it all but the cost to share it all is well out of our budget.so we share almost 1TB. You have accessto that and no one charges you for it. No one asks you for a donation to help support your ability to have it.

And yet here you come with your silly assumptions based on hair brained logic, trying to conjure up some sort of dark force is behind the website. Why?

i am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.

the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.

i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.

No it's not, redsetter2. I'm not attacking you. I'm telling people to be wary of a person claiming to be someone that cannot be properly verified. And I'm also telling you that you need to be more discerning with what posts you link to when trying to validate yourself, particularly if you are who you claim to be.

You are self-obsessed. Do you not realise that your first link is from a female teen who is only about 17 or 18 years of age?

The second link is from someone who is smart enough to view you with suspicion.

Anyone can claim to be a high ranking JW and utter any type of nonsense. Any reasoning person would do well to read what you say with a healthy dose of skepticism and criticism.

For clarification, you have been in contact with missusato, not Avoidjw.org. You did email Avoidjw.org once on an unrelated matter.

Avoidjw.org does not publish data about Jehovah's Witnesses unless it can be verified and validated. We have strict rules about that.

Even if what you say comes true it is still hearsay. If you want hearsay published, you would need to identify yourself to at least verify the source. Otherwise, we require a document that outlines the 10 year plan.

Norway Supreme Court Makes WTS Reinstate Disfellowshipped Member

The Supreme Court of Norway has not ruled that the woman at the centre of this case should be reinstated. Instead, they have overturned the appellate court's decision that she should be reinstated.

They did heavily criticize Jehovah's Witnesses shunning policy but they said Jehovah's Witnesses have a right to expel members from its church as part of their religious freedom.

WT-Closing In On 50 Subpoenas!

@smiddy3: This wasn’t a case in the strictest sense. Under the DMCA law, Facebook has to hand over all identifying information of an alleged copyright infringer unless they have a lawful reason not to. Once they agreed to handing it over, Watchtower received nothing monetarily.

@Everyone: Copyright law is quite a complex area of law. There is a lot of misunderstanding of what is going on, what rights watchtower has, and what rights alleged infringers have. Let me explain some things about copyright, as simply as I possibly can.

Without putting too fine a point on it, Everything anyone creates is protected by copyright, whether or not you publish it, whether or not you register it.

When it comes to an alleged infringer publishing that copyrighted content prior to the copyright holder publishing it, that’s frustrating Watchtower. The rightfulness or wrongfulness in so doing can be discussed at length but ultimately it is for the courts to decide and whether any or all of it falls under ‘fair use’.

What’s the difference between copyright and registered copyright?

As stated, all material is subject to copyright. However, if your materials are registered with the copyright office, you benefit from additional statutory rights. By way of example:

You have written a book. You registered it with the copyright office. You sell it on Amazon as an ebook for $10. Someone downloads your book and starts reselling it for $5. You find out and sue him. If the court determines that he has infringed on your copyright, because you have registered your copyright, along with recouping money for lost earnings, money that he made and money for court costs, you are also awarded statutory damages of between $750 up to a maximum of $150k.

Watchtower have not registered their copyrights so cannot claim statutory damages. They can claim loss of earnings ($0), money made by infringer ($0) and court costs (this is the only area where there is a cost and even if WT were to win such a case, courts don’t always make the loser pay).

Now you might be thinking, why don’t Watchtower retrospectively register their copyrights? They need to do so within 3 months of publication. In other words, they can’t register most if their publications now. It means all alleged infringements on Faithleaks are exempt from statutory damages.

Folks who allegedly infringe on Watchtower’s Copyright do not do it for financial gain. In fact, most alleged infringers would rather have nothing to do with Watchtower’s publications. It’s a form of protest. And it is a form of protest that works very well.

Watchtower are following a path we paved and may they continue down it.
