  part 1 - protein functional redundancy.... part 2 - dna functional redundancy.... imagine you are teacher with suspicions that some of your pupils have been copying from each other.

  comparing the correct answers in all of their assignments might not provide conclusive evidence.

  they could simply claim they had all carefully revised the same textbooks so it shouldn't be surprising that they all gave the same answers.

  Alan Rickman's Passing

  alan rickman, best known to my generation as prof. severus snape from the harry potter film franchise, has passed away due to cancer at the age of 69.. growing up with a witness mother, anything related to science fiction and fantasy was looked down upon, so, naturally, i was a rebel rebel (oh david bowie...).. just wanted to let any potterheads know the news and that even if you feel like you'll never be free of the deadly watchtower, you're not alone and there's hope.. always..

  Am saddened to hear of this. Kind of eerie that he too passed away from cancer at 69... just like Bowie.

  In the 70's many well known pop artists died of drug overdoses at 27.

  Today the well known die at 69... from cancer.

  How things have changed.

  having recently read orwells 1984, i was impressed with how he understood that both politicians and people abuse language.

  this further confirmed to me how the w.t had deceived me by using words to distort reality.

  the book 1984, also contains many other great thoughts of george orwell.. of course there have been many other great thinkers, buddah, darwin, freud, einstein and marx come to mind.

  Once you understand how little difference there really is within all the major Christian denominations that idea salvation though works or salvation though obedience to a human organization it all seems quite silly.

  Yeah :) Or people claiming to be experts in theology hey?

  I remember there was this audio recording of Hovind incriminating himself further where he discusses hiding some assets from the government with his son over the phone. This was while he was in jail :)

  Lets say Hovind is or was guilty of tax evasion. That really has nothing to do with the information on his videos.

  True. However his arrogance regarding taxes is just one of his more endearing qualities.

  Some others:

  His qualifications. As you know his doctoral degree he bought for $100 dollars. The going rate at that time. In his videos he always makes bones about the fact that he worked hard for his doctoral degree. But his thesis only contained four chapters totaling 101 pages, but Hovind’s introduction claimed the work was 250 pages with 16 chapters. It had incomplete citations, was not supervised and was issued by a diploma mill.

  His moral character. When YouTube was still young, people would challenge his videos and post point by point refutations. You had to use his videos in segments for brevity and for believability because people would claim: No No Hovind never said this. You know what he did? His organization would file DMCA after DMCA to try and shut them up.

  The atheist community has had a very long walk with this man and how he does things.

  Why give him any credence whatsoever?

  As regards his substance:

  Well why don't we start with his theory on red shift?

  Or is there some other topic like his theory on continental drift you would rather want to discuss?

  I still think you're just baiting. There is no serious theist academic on this planet that remotely gives him any credence (Lord knows there's always one right?). With your claimed academic background I cannot understand how you give this man any legitimacy at all.

  The evolutionist do not believe God was involved they don't believe God formed man they believe all life came from a rock and had a common ancestor.

  Well first was the rocks see... and THEN came a common ancestor (just to be clear). And you would also need some water. And Nitrogen. And Carbon. And Hydrogen. So rocks are more for the trace elements found in life.

  What if God started the whole universal process of evolution? (Cosmic and Biological) But that would not square with Genesis now would it? Which brings me to my next point.

  No, those are atheists. Evolution has absolutely nothing to say about the existence of God. It is true that both Cofty and I are atheists, but many theists are evolutionists. Creationists get into a pickle because they equate the idea that if evolution is true then it means that God does not exist. They get into this quandary because of the first three chapters of Genesis which they choose to interpret literally. Evolution is quiet on the subject of God and describes a naturally occurring process.

  Man and mans cells are much to complicated for that. There is no way we could be here without a designer.

  I know your position because I've made the effort to understand it. I can always detect when a creationist has never read a book on evolution (which was not written by a creationist). Here's why: They simply do not understand the process of evolution because they have not taken the time to try to understand it.

  So when people die and they wanted to live in sin and deny God, it makes sense to me that they would go to hell a place of darkness and eternal cutting off.

  And this is one of the reasons I do not believe in God. Because a maniac that would torture people for eternity just because he can't be bothered to give clear evidence of his existence smacks of bullshit. Its a God that I would truly abhor and this universe although sometimes cruel and ambivalent is not remotely as wicked as the God that you are describing.

  He would gladly debate them in a professional manner. But Aron tells you in the video he posted that he was against that.

  Absolutely.

  1. Aaronra makes the point that if there was any credibility to ANY creationists position they could submit papers for peer review.

  2. Hovind lost all credibility when he went to jail for tax fraud. He was never in the game to begin with, so why give him any credibility now?

  Which if you read my original post on Dawkins was my exact point in the first place.
