"Please PLEASE! do not make me upset. You know I'm fragile"
most savants are
Minimus. . . . . .you're not following the model our one of our forum icons has clearly established.
1. Ask for a show of JWD hands of support before you even go through the initial agony of baring your pubescent soul in part 1.
2. Take note of riffraff who do not fawn over your wisdom in a side thread
3. Threaten to abort the gospel of your life if the rumblings do not subide and a significant ourpouring, groundswell of undieing devotion is
not immediately forthcoming.
4. Back by popular demand for Part 2

for reasons i've stated in the window washers thread, i will not write and post any more about my life as a jw.. thank you, "yesidid.
" you're a real gem.. farkel.
Let those who have ears listen. Threatening to not post any more brilliance if not ego-stroked is the Farkel story. lol!

part 1 - my parents.
it's a funny thing, time.
notwithstanding einstein's relativity, time means vastly different things throughout life.
I won't use the word "entertaining" to describe your words, Farkel. I salute your father and all those fathers and mothers who encouraged, promoted and relished the successes of their children. As most of us on this forum know, the JW religion stifles creativity, undermines individual success, accomplishment, intellectual and social development. Your mother's dysfunction seem to go beyond that. Keep writing. Happy New Year.

so, there we all are in the break room in my place of work, and the topic turns to the holiday shopping madness.
this co-worker starts to say how expensive this holiday season has been for him and that he's still not done, and too bad when the day comes the family members will find fault or something else wrong with his gifts, and to make things worst, that the wife also was purchasing gifts with his credit card so he feared the january statement.. so, i jokingly told him that one way he can remedy that is by telling his family that he's been studying the bible and that he won't be celebrating christmas this year as he's studying to become a jw.
they all laughed loudly and the guy, second by others in the room, told me that i just didn't know how good i had it being a jw this time of the year.
Doubtfully,
Your co-worker is religiously tolerant and provided you a "feel good" moment, reinforcing your righteous stand against "pagan" holidays. Hopefully, you will be consistant in your moral high road and refuse any Christmas bonuses, holiday pay, holiday turkeys, hams, etc.

frank was concerned that they might be dumping them in the woods or something so he wanted me to check it out.. i had a hard time convincing h and h to let me join them in service, finally i dropped a few hints that i was a pretty laid back brother who didn't always follow wtbts policy......... which wasn't far from the truth.
this guy was hard core.

Riveting! I envy you and yours for getting out after a few years instead of a half-century like some of us. There is actually some value in learning to survive in a remote setting where "the need is great" for a year or two. It is almost like being a Mormon missionary at least in time served. The trap comes when "privileges of service", the dangling carrots of JWdom become your god.
People like your friend, Frank, are actually enablers, because they are so normal. They see through the mind games, but still serve the JW god. Of course, they have rationalized things with the old Watchtower platitudes and a few of their own.
The best part of your story is sparing your son the JW life.

as serious students of the holy scriptures, we all know what a great role the history of korea has played in the outworking of the divine purpose.. (you realize i'm pulling your leg, right?
tell me when to stop...).
this being the obvious and incontrovertible truthtm, we can expect that in the not-too-distant future the wtb&ts will announce that north korea is the "king of the north" and that kingdom of antarctica is the "king of the south.
oops, the lord has blessed me with a double portion

Nathan,
Greber is good, but tricky. He has been known to work both sides of the aisle. He was tight with Mary Baker Eddy but threw Freddy Franz a few prophetical curves. Be careful with the sedatives as you know the FDA is not an approved associate. Jim Beam was the Judge's "helper" even during years when good spirit stock was scarce. Jehovah-jireh!
