One less bible study for them

my wife & i have some days ago talked to our maid, she had been studying the bible with a pioneer for almost a year & was beeing pressured into baptism.
we informed her all about the wt-un scandal & other things... she has just cancelled her study.

I donated all my WT books to Freeminds.org. Actually, there were several old books that I wish I would have kept. But oh well, I donated them to a good cause, and I have a '99 WT CD. If all you got is magazines, I'd use 'em to start fires.

An exJW gets one pregnant

however, i think i'm going to need more help... i was dfed back in july just after my 18th birthday; i just couldn't take it any more.

Well, hey, sorry you're dumb enough to get a 17 year old TEENAGER pregnant. You gotta deal with it. My best advice would be for her to carry the baby to term and put it up for adoption to a decent 2 parent family. Either that, or make sure you support that kid to the best of your ability. Option #1 is better, though.

Boycott Blockbuster!!!
by LuckyLucy inmy friend and i went to rent a movie from blockbuster video and they charged us a late fee for a movie i rented 3 months ago.
i have rented dozens of movies since then and they never said anything and i am positive i got it back on time.
this has happeded before.. soooo...to make a long story short....i went home and got on line and did a search on blockbuster....nothing but locations and stuff on new releases...blah blah blah...so i started to think ...hmmm maybe they just made a mistake with me...thats cool.. on a whim i typed in blockbuster ripoff and poof!!

Well, I guess it's a good thing that I've never used Blockbuster! I've heard of Netflix. Actually, sounds like a deal, but ya have to wait a few days to get your movies, and you don't get another until you send one back. But hey, for 20 bucks, might be worth it.

Went to a meeting a few weeks ago.......
by flower inwell actually it wasnt a meeting, it was my grandma's funeral but it may as well been the 'special talk' for the year with all the bullshit they were spewing.. the 'brother' giving the 'eulogy' (haha..) was an elder from my former congregation, my parents current congregation and to my knowledge (i'm 99% sure) has never met or seen my grandmother before that day.
neither had any of the other jw's that were there 'supporting' my family...well the jw family anyway, the rest of us dont need support since we are df'd.. i hadnt been to a meeting for almost 2 years now and i cant tell you how hard it was sitting through the twisting of scriptures and arrogance know it all attitude coming from the speaker.
my bf and i just looked at each other in disgust while scripture after scripture was read to prove the dead are just dead and their soul is dead and all we have to do is wait till the ressurection if we want to see them again.

An elder that said from the platform: "Bigfoot is a leftover race of Nephilim."
The "brother" that married his own brother's wife.(all three were 'hovahs in good standing at the time) Gunshots were fired. No deaths, though.
The "sister" that ran from the meeting screaming, "this is a buncha shit!"
The "sister" that ran sreaming from the stage during her TMS part; "I can't do this!"
An elder said this from the platform; "We party with JW's only."
Young "brother" who greets me for the first time at the hall; "Let's go to a Motley Crue concert!"
Two elders sparring back and forth during the "special needs" part of the TMS:
Elder A: We need contributions for a hall renovation with new seats.
Elder B: Why? These seats work just fine.
Elder A: Well, why don't we remove these seats and put in wooden benches?(heavy sarcasm)
Elder B: Because we're in the 20th century!
Elder A: let's get rid of our cars and get horses and buggies.(heavy sarcasm)
and on and on I swear for about 20 minutes.

My two year anniversary

when i came here, i knew nothing of h2o, kent's place or freeminds site, though i did get his newsletter.
when i came here, i certainly did know the jw experience.
