What do you mean?! I ALWAYS go to the beach after service and wear long pants and button up shirts while I play a game in the sand with my family! Sometimes I wear button up long sleeve shirts too!

lol, this was taken at west beach (i think) Adelaide, Australia. Some people in my parents cong recognised a couple of bros and sis in it, and know the bro who took the pic.
Definitely playing cricket.
It wouldnt be entirely unheard of to be wearing long sleeves and pants if its taken in spring or autumn - it can be beautiful sunny days but still pretty chilly. But not that formal!
However in Adelaide summers, you wear as little as possible unless you are in air conditioning!

fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

been enjoying your diary for a while, from memory you are a kiwi living in aus? same as me :) I used to live in QLD but not anymore. Might know some of the same people.
glad for you that you AND "Mrs Smith" are fading together. its lonely fading by myself, even though my hubby is supportive.
have you heard from your sister yet? hope things work out for her. My husband and I made the mistake of asking the elders for help with our marital issues... worst thing ever. Mind you, it is what got me started "waking up"
Keep the diary going, especially insights into the things you hear at meetings that are "off" Since im still going as well (to maintain appearances), i should start posting my own thread of wierd current WT teaching....

When you were a jw....Christmas day...
by carla inwhen you were a jw did you get together with family or other jw's on christmas day?
most people have off so it would be convenient.
in my mind, if you got together with family or jw's shared a meal or drinks, perhaps watched a movie or played games you did celebrate the day.

We used to always have a congregation or family picnic somewhere. Just because its a public holiday and everyone has time off.
these days my hubby has the day off so I have a lie in and he looks afr the kids, we might take them to the beach or if its too hot stay in, eat, drink, watch DVDs. Just enjoy it as a holiday really.
To make sure they dont miss out on looking forward to something like other kids, i will be replacing Christmas with family gift days for my kids. In January after the post Xmas sales, and maybe one mid year too.
