Enjoy,

the husband just gave me the new march km (im using it folded up as a coaster at the moment) and a new "blood card" to complete, along with a copy of a set of instructions for how to fill it out and a letter from wts to every baptised publisher.
i said to him "i wont be needing that" and gave it back to him, and he just said, well just throw it out then - no overreaction yay :o) without telling him, about a month ago, (i tore up my existing no blood directive.
our kids have never carried around "identity cards" we were never that diligent about it).
Thanks :o) here only the parents sign the kids identity cards.... no elders witness them. I do plan on hiding all of the blank directives in his bottom drawer. he'll forget about them. If he asks me about it i'll say "why would i have it?"
If he wants to make a stand about blood, I'll support him making HIS choice, but not for our kids.
i was baptised --1963. left in 1978. fifteen years.
pre-baptism, another 5 years.
Born in, am finally inactive after being baptised 20 years.
you all had some interesting thoughts on that jw memorial thread.
some of you mentioned that you are going so that you can set some sort of example.
i gather that some of you believe that by going and eating, you are somehow showing them they can (or should) do it too.. that really confuses me.
As I am a recent INACTIVE person, to keep the elders and my parents at bay and provide a bit of support for the husband, I will go this year for the last time/. And be fighting the urge to drink the wine when it comes round.... it always smells sooooo goooood.
But if either of the kids are sick, I will be graciously volunteering to stay home with them... and enjoying a bottle of wine, some cheese n crackers. (Sorry im not a chocolate milk fan and ive never seen a pop tart here in SA)

As a little girl I LOVED singing the original "pray to jehovah each day" song. I just loved singing.
SD-7 i love your version. When I get the hang of youtube, i might have to upload a sound clip singing it. Without a bird on my shoulder. And I'll blow my nose first....

Anyhoo, back to the info that came with the "blood card" it had a sample of how to fill it out, cracked me up with the surnames used, RIGHTEOUS, VIGILANT, DILIGENT, RELIABLE, WITNESS. No, none of the first names were "Andre".
The letter is very boring, but signs of with the usual blather as follows....
"We rejoice with this development (some legal thing that upholds the validity of advance directives) and see it as a progressive step for Jehovah's servants in ensuring that their decision to uphold his law on the use of blood is respected and honoured. Please be assured of our warm Christian love.
Your brothers...."
My husband hasnt filled his in yet, I just saw there are a couple of blank "identity cards" for our kids, but I wont be signing them or keeping them on our kids. I dont think he will push the issue at all.
download from this site is pink.
is this a sneaky way to ferret out those who get theirs from this site?.
i think different countries have slight differences, could include colour
so i got some great advice to take things very slowly with the husband and kids in order to be able to fade and still maintain contact with my parents and siblings.
but today i got a call from my son's teacher that he was having a meltdown because he was worried about all his friends and teachers being destroyed at armageddon.... first i felt like such a schmuck for ever having allowed that thought to enter my son's head, then i thought, is it psychological torture for me not to immediately correct the situation?
i had a long talk with him about how god is perfectly just and full of love and he didn't have to worry about that at all, but it still seemed lukewarm.
Lost Generation, I like the thought of refocusing kids on what they want to be when they grow up, thinking about the REALITY, not a fantasy - one thing i wouldnt say is "when you get married..." maybe "if you get married..." or "when you are an adult, where would you like to live"... just a thought

i tried to help her out.... poor, deluded, socially awkward (im guessing) young lady. Props to Cedars and Anthony for being sweet to her. I feel I may have been a LITTLE sarcastic....
