my parents found out later on and didn't tell anyone.
Welcome Darkside, Gojira, Newly Enlighted & Brother of Hawk. So glad you all have each other here on the other side!
Sorry to hear of your incredibly heartbreaking experience Darkside... very brave of you for sharing. I am sure others with similar experiences will appreciate it, and maybe be able to provide support and understanding where needed.
Love Sky x
i have an aquaintance that likes to say, "once an a hole always an a hole".
i guess you could reason that whatever your religious views were, your core is you are who you are.. did your personality change for better or worse when you left the organization?.
Less judgemental, less strict
quotes:.
-- therefore, explain that a parent's decision an a child's associates would not be based on religion, but on the young one's conduct ... it will probably help if you acknowledge that this does not mean that all other youths whom your children are around in the neighborhood or at school are no good.
some of them may be pleasant and decent, as some of your neighbors, relatives, and workmates are.
**WOW, just....WOW**

i have to say i am surprised and am quite saddened to hear how many jdub marriages fall apart when one partner becomes an "unbelieving mate" or even an "apostate.
" i thought i might post my thoughts on my thinking process during the time my hubby, bethelyellowdollarbag, in my jdub thinking moved along the path from an "unbelieving mate" to an "apostate" over the course of 30 years before i finally woke up to ttatt.

JGNAT, i wish you lived near me or vice versa. Have read so many of your posts and I think you're a really great person, and your presence here is invaluable. ((HUGS))
so being that once upon a time i was one of the elites, a regular pioneering, high & mighty jw, i still have the "keys to the kingdom" as i've always called them and was bored this past saturday night and had a couple non-jw friends (the real & unconditional kind) in my car.
as we were driving around trying to find something new and exciting to do we passed by the road which leads to my kh.
and then i thought why not go over there, show my friends what this cult looks like from the inside?.
wish i was one of your friends... that wouldve been fun...
