kes,
Yes, that was it.
I've got a few questions in response but I'll have to get back on Monday night. Until then, I thank you all for trying to help me understand this. Peace to you!

Thanks everyone!
Kes, if Michael is the "Angel of the LORD," then He is Jesus because in Romans Paul said that the "rock" that followed the Israelites out of Egypt was Christ. Reference later...
To Moses, this "Angel" who is appearing at the bush says He is God. Can the created angel Michael go around representing God & recieve worship? Isn't the worship of angels forbidden? What gives?
I've gotta go-peace to you all. -

I would post a picture but I don't know how...
Give your perspective. Explain the connection between the Jude & Zechariah passages if you can.

Ok, but the point is that Michael did not dare to rebuke Satan in Jude 9. In Zechariah, the Angel of the Lord said the same thing almost. Forgetting the 2 Peter passage, the Angel of the Lord's statement & Michael's statement are almost identical.
In Joshua 5:13-15 Joshua was near Jericho when He came upon a being who identified himself as the "Commander of the army of the LORD." Joshua paid him reverance, & the angel told him to take off his sandals for He was standing on Holy ground, which is EXACTLY what the ANGEL of the LORD told Moses to do in Exodus 3:5. The passage states it was God talking to Moses. The title "Commander of the army of the LORD is what I'm wondering about. To me this means someone who is in charge of soldiers, or in this case, angels. Revelation 12:7 speaks of MICHAEL & his angels doing battle with the devil. Matthew 13:41 & Mark 13:27 speak of Christ sending, or coming with his angels.
I know that before He came to earth Jesus Christ was known as the "Angel of the Lord," the revelation of God to man. This "Angel" was the one who spoke to Moses at the burning bush, appeared to Abraham, & the presence that accompnied the Israelites out of Egypt as the pillar of fire. Thois ANGEL spoke for God, in the 1st person. This makes perfect sense to me because I believe Jesus Christ to be the Almighty God. However, sometimes I wonder about the connection between the Angel of the LORD & Michael. I'm confused.

Zechariah 3:1,2- The He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you!"...
Jude 9-But even the Archangel Michael, when He was disputing with the Devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
The response from the Angel of the Lord in Zechariah & from Michael in Jude are very similar.
Many anti-witness books that I've read say that Jesus & Michael cannot be the same person because Jesus while on earth rebuked the Devil, & in Jude it says that Michael did not dare to rebuke Satan.
In 2 Peter 2:10-12 it says that Angels are more powerful than the ungodly, yet they are blasphemed. And, that these Angels will not rebuke these ungodly while they are in the presence of the Lord.(NIV) Could this be the reason that Michael didn't rebuke the Devil? Because He was in the presence of the Lord? In light of all of this, could Michael be that "Angel of God.?" If so, then He was Christ. -

I'm a new study, unsure a little uncertain. Help??
by Meow921 ini recently started doing some studying of jehovahs witnesses, and i find most everything so logical, and the people involved have been so nice to me.
i'm 30, and currently am not associated with any denomination.. what i don't understand is how the word "cross" got translated into the bible if it's not right.
aren't we supposed to believe the bible?.

The Roman method of crucifixion in Latin was called a "crux." "Cross" is the English word. Also, the "stauros" was the stake in the ground. The person being crucified usually carried their own crossbeam to the site.

Hey Gopher, domo for the welcome. I have not been to any other meetings except the memorial. I was invited to a talk a guy was giving at the Hall(a co-worker)but chose not to go.
So you were a Witness up until last year? At my last job, I worked with a guy who was 54 years old who had been a Witness his whole life. He had known nothing else. He & I kinda had a falling out; He kept telling me He had the truth & I told him that the Bible says I have nothing to fear from a false prophet & the wheels kinda fell off from then on out. I was labled an opposer. I was not, I only investigated both sides like the WT said. A Witness named Becky called on me yesterday & told me it didn't sound like I was an opposer, she could tell I had questions. I told her that the WT claims to be the truth & that's fine but she does'nt know what I know. If only they would pull off the blinders...
Peace everyone. -

Hey everyone,
I have never been a JW, but I've studied about them for years. Most of my working life I've worked alongside JW's at various jobs, & they would always engage me in a conversation about God. Those talks led me to my christian bookstore to purchase what JW's call "apostate literature." So, over the past ten years or so I've read everything I could about the Watchtower to get that inside edge of what they believe. I've read the Society's books, David Reed's books, Duane Magnani's stuff, all of it. I know about Beth Sarim, heck I've been to the house. It's magnificent. I know about Greber, all of the coverups, the lies. I've been to a Memorial service, heard the BORING music, watched the elements being passed around with no one partaking. The one thing I did find though is love amongst themselves. It's too bad that they're wrong, because I wish my faith could be as genuine as theirs seems to be. I see too much hypocricy in christendom in general. Oh well.
Anyway, I'm 35 years old, about to turn 36. I have a wonderful 10 year old son, who unfortunately lives with his mom. :( I have been married 5 1/2 years to my wife. I collect baseball cards, & my oldest card is a 1966 Topps Mickey Mantle. My favorite player currently is Mike Sweeney of the Royals. Troy Glaus is another favorite.
I am a christian first, Southern Baptist second. I am a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. I reside in Wichita, Ks & work at Boeing Aircraft. This is my introduction. Thanks. -

Joshua 5:13-15. Exactly who is this "Commander of the Lord's army?" Rev. 12:7 Michael & his Angels throw satan out of Heaven. Is it Michael? If so, the being who Joshua encountered said the ground He was standing on was holy, which is the same statement the Angel of the Lord said to Moses at the burning bush.
Also, Michael the Archangel in Daniel is spoke of being the protector of the Nation of Israel. When the Israelites were being led out of captivity from the Egyptians, the "Angel of the Lord," or the pre-incarnate Christ, was with them as the "pillar of fire." Do you see what I'm asking? I've got a lot more questions I could throw out but time is short. I'm not a Witness, but I wonder about this. Thanks. -

by SharonUT inif this has been answered before, just point me in the right direction.
matthew 28:19 says to be baptized in the "name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy ghost.
" what is the justification used in jehovah's witnesses changing this.
