This is Xi and Trump colluding to push Trump's impeachment trial off the front page. If Trump is judged Guilty, people will start dropping like flies and Trump will declare himself President for Life, just like Xi. Anonymous sources are preparing to come forward and unverified documentary evidence is being gathered. Coming soon to a Twitter account that has a blue "been verified" check mark.

A Serial Pooper Caught Defecating In Massachusetts Parking Lot!

I heard that in California this behavior has almost been normalized. San Fran has a "poop patrol" that responds to cases of human and animal waste. Its the old saying, you gotta go when you gotta go.

Which songs give you goosebumps?
by LoveUniHateExams ini don't know if this topic has been covered before - it might 've been.. i also recommend flipper's excellent music thread ('what songs have you been listening to?
', or similar).. but, i'd just like to start a thread about certain songs giving me goosebumps.
y'know, when you hear a song that profoundly effects you in some difficult-to-describe way and the hairs on your arm stand on end even though the room temperature's comfortably warm.. so, which songs give you goosebumps?.

My choice is a bit odd since I usually lean towards music from artists like Merle Haggard, but there is something about Vivaldi's Winter that can almost move me to tears. Here's a version I just found played on a piano. Have to marvel at the artist's skills:

Is it possible to nullify a baptism?
by idk123 inhope you are all well,.
i was wondering within the organisation if there are any guidelines or grounds for nullifying a baptism.
see i grew up a jehovah's witness and was baptised at age 13, i didn't get baptised for the right reasons, i felt pressured to because my friends were getting baptised at the same time.

The best way to renew a relationship with family after being disfellowshipped is to go make a success of yourself. I've seen this happen.
A witness kid was baptized when he was 14 or so. When he graduated High School he announced he no longer wanted to be a JW. This sent an earthquake through his family and congregation as his dad was an uber-elder, his mom had been a full time pioneer forever, and his sister had married a bethelite and moved to NYC. The son was disfellowshipped and shunned by everyone.
The disfellowshipped young man continued to live in the area. He married (no family attended or acknowledge the wedding), had a couple of kids (not acknowledge by family), and lived his life. He started a business and it turned out that the disfellowshipped man was quite the entrepreneur. Then his father, the elder, went to work for him. In fact, a few others in the congregation went to work in his company. They justified it by claiming they actually worked for the elder father, not the disfellowshipped son. Turns out they are one big happy family!
You may have heard that "living well is the best revenge." So that is my advice to anybody, live well and sooner or later the ones who are shunning you will turn up like nothing had ever happened.

Who's Happy To Go Abroad and Drive on the Other Side?
by snugglebunny ini do it most years.
being in the uk, virtually every other country nearby drives on the right.
we drive on the left.

i drove in New Zealand and got used to driving on the left side in short order. Where I would tend to mess up was checking to the left first when making turns. Ended up with my head swiveling several times before pulling out.
The checking to the left first when walking across a street is particularly dangerous. I wonder how many people get smacked making that mistake while walking around town in a left side country?
As a friend in New Zealand told me, "In America, you drive on the right side of the road. In New Zealand, we drive on the proper side."

The Holidays Are No Big Deal Anymore
by minimus inyou used to hear christmas music blaring on every radio station.
not anymore.
people used to jam the roadways and malls to do their christmas shopping and now it’s no big deal.

I agree that Christmas has lost something for me. I also agree that it has to do with shopping on line. I don't buy many people gifts, but the ones I do are mostly through Amazon, way easier! In fact about the only gifts I actually purchase in person are a couple of gift cards to local restaurants that I give to the letter carrier and the garbage truck driver, two people I don't actually know. It would probably be different if I had little kids around.
I do still have fun doing a little celebrating on Solstice which is coming up December 21 at 10:19 PM CST. I will have a couple of drinks with a few friends and if it's not too cold, meaning below 0, we will have a fire outside. I let my inner pagan out once in a while.

I read this news article
https://fox6now.com/2019/12/02/city-ordinance-bans-snowballs-in-wausau-in-the-interest-of-public-safety/
and had two takeaways.
The first one is the ordinance applies only to public property. Banning activity on public property isn't all that rare. Drinking alcohol, smoking, noise, etc, are banned or restricted in communities all over the country on public property. If I read the article correctly, if you want to have a snowball fight in your own backyard, have at it.
The second takeaway has to do with enforcement. The police noted that not one citation has been issued. That's the problem I have with ordinances like this one. What's the point if it is not going to be applied fairly and equally? It's just stupid, feel good politics. Kind of like plastic bag bans or fees for their use (recently passed in my town). Doing "something" about plastic bags really isn't going to impact the total use of plastic, but by Gawd, it did raise awareness for about 5 minutes.

Prince Andrew & Jeffrey Epstein, WTF
by Simon inin fact, several "wtf"s, not least - why were you visiting a convicted pedophile after his release from prison, never-mind having any contact with him in the first place when his preoclivities seemed to be an open secret.. and the best he can some up with is "i don't remember"?

Did you write those, MeanMrMustard? Well done!
I saw on the news here in the States that the Queen fired Andrew and cut off his allowance. If true, good for her. He did say he was stepping away from official business. He has harmed the Windsor brand.

“You know how I know that they're finished out there? The carts.”
by Athanasius inthe watchtower's many legal problems and the jws' use of carts in their preaching work, reminded me of a scene and dialog from the film patton.. in a scene where patton is viewing a battle site the morning after, he says to an aide about the nazis: “you know how i know that they're finished out there?
in my dreams i saw the carts.
they kept buzzing around in my head and i couldn't figure out why.

why don't they just attach a rack to the wall with a sign that says "TAKE ONE"?
Because evil people, like me, will deface whatever they leave for the taking. I stop at a rest area while traveling that has a magazine rack free for the taking. It used to be stocked with the latest WT magazines and sometimes CD's. I'd carry my Sharpie when I would go in and write the web address for various web sites across the covers. One day the magazine rack had a sign on it that said something like "No Religious Literature Allowed" and that was the end of it. JW's weren't the only ones putting magazines in the rack. I remember "Guideposts" being in the rack. I didn't mess with those.
