  Say what you want about President Trump, and I have some heartburn with him, I have to admit that seeing a 70 something year old man deliver an almost 2 hour speech is remarkable. Vice-President Biden is what, 10 years older than Trump? I don't think Biden would have the endurance to go for 30 minutes, tops.

  I happened to see a segment on some TV show this evening and it showed a picture of President Trump arriving at the White House after the Tulsa event. His tie was off, he had his shirt unbuttoned, and he was carrying his red hat. The talking head was describing him as looking depressed and defeated. I saw a a man in his 70's who had had a long, long day. Anybody would look beat, not beaten.

  we have to get rid of these racist relics.

  i propose that we destroy all these bottles of syrups and burn every pancake box !

  we need to get rid of anything that reminds us of anything negative concerning slavery.. in boston they decapitated the head of christopher columbus and got rid of his statue.

  What Happened at the Tulsa Rally? I Thought There Were Requests for a Million Tickets?

  it just seems rather odd to me that supposedly a million people had tickets or wanted tickets and yet the upper deck of the arena was half empty (or less) and they cancelled the outdoor overflow thing.

  just a bit strange based from what was reported the day before.. i wonder if it was no-shows or being overly optimistic..

  Maybe Aunt Jemima will be white.

  That'll work as long as she is kneeling, apologizing for her privilege. Quaker Oats will have to focus group the concept.

  If people are upset that Quaker is changing the look of the Aunt Jemima product line, the remedy is quite simple. Buy the Aunt Jemima line from Quaker and do what you want with it.

  I really don't know what the big deal is with Quaker Oats changing the look of their packaging. Quaker made a business decision and they are following thru. It'll be interesting to see how they sell the Aunt Jemima product line going forward. It would seem that they can't just drop the image yet keep the name.

  If Trump wasn't such a tone deaf empty suit he would go to Tulsa tomorrow and tour the site of the Black Wall Street massacre. At the end of the tour he would lay a wreath in remembrance of those who suffered and died on that dreadful day and then announce that he will sign into law legislation that would make Juneteenth a National holiday. Some view this as more pandering but I think Trump, a Republican, signing into law a holiday that enshrines the Emancipation Proclamation that was made by Lincoln, the original Republican, would be almost poetic during this troubled time. It would also honor and remind people of the soldiers who fought and died to preserve the Union while crushing that peculiar institution, slavery. Democrats would hate this.

  At the very least I hope Trump says something about Black Wall Street and the massacre that occurred there. But he will no doubt prattle on about building big beautiful walls and how great the economy will be "soon" (where have I heard that crap word before) and give shout outs to the military and cops...you know the script.

  If you don't know anything about the Black Wall Street massacre, 60 Minutes had a segment on it last Sunday. It's worth the 15 minutes to watch.

  When Trump won the election, the most surprised person in the USA was Donald J. Trump. Then he hired Ivanka and Jared and things went downhill from there. He filled his administration with people that were against his agenda from the start later claiming he wanted a "team of rivals" just like Lincoln. I didn't vote for him (or Clinton either. First Presidential I sat out since 1984), but when he won I thought he had a crack at being a great President. Build the wall, crack down on immigration, get tough on China, and blah, blah, blah. Donald Trump is just a bull shit artist. But, I think Trump will win again because the Dems pandering to everyone the last few weeks has left a really bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths.

  On a side note, I see the videos of Biden giving "speeches" or whatever they are supposed to be. He keeps looking to the left and right like any good speaker will. When I see these videos I can't help but think of the video of Michael Avenatti (remember that guy?) giving a press conference. I couldn't find a longer version.

  i would think that exjws would exercise more critical thinking than not.

  now we are thrust in this “ world” and take sides on social issues and politics.. just because our government leaders say something it doesn’t mean it’s right.

  just because the majority of the news media tells us how we should think, it doesn’t mean we have to follow.

  Critical thinking is a skill and like any other skill it needs to be learned. The last place one learns about critical thinking is in a Kingdom Hall. When someone leaves the jw church the ability to think critically doesn't automatically manifest itself. Keep in mind that the first step of critical thinking is to ask questions. If someone has spent 20, 30, 40 or more years in jw land, where asking questions is pretty much forbidden, learning that vital first step will take some time.
