I could see the GB disappearing and JWs wondering how that could have happened since they didn’t see Jesus. Then they will conclude that only the 144,000 could see him coming, for the rest of us it was invisible. Then the elders urge people to stop questioning and off to their basement or bunkers, for the end is here!

Keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he comes.—1 Cor. 11:26.
Regarding the great tribulation just ahead of us, Jesus said: “They will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And [Jesus] will send out his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together.” (Matt. 24:29-31) This ‘gathering of chosen ones’ refers to the time when all anointed Christians who still remain on earth will receive their heavenly reward. It will happen after the initial part of the great tribulation has passed but before the battle of Armageddon. Then all of the 144,000 will share with Jesus in conquering the kings of the earth. (Rev. 17:12-14) The last Memorial that is observed prior to this gathering of the anointed to heaven will be the final one, for Jesus will have ‘come.’ w18.01 16 ¶15

Enjoyed the Memorial
by ScottyRex inprobably not a popular opinion on here....and haven't been actively attending meetings since 1988....(i know i know a submarine attender) however thoroughly enjoyed attending this evening...was good to see lots of people i remember whilst growing up in this faith, they were genuine and the whole atmosphere was one of love.
sure if i suddenly wanted to become active again and didn't change my lifestyle they would drop me like a bomb.....however i haven't and won't and they didn't and don't.
this works for me.. i cannot demonize the witnesses on what i have seen tonight.

I went to the Memorial tonight as well, so boring. For those that feel they were really loved when they attended, the members are strongly encouraged to be more happy and loving than normal. It’s the way to get people to return that have been away. It definitely works for some. Once you start attending, it will stop and you will see how tired and exhausted everyone is on a regular basis, they won’t have the extra energy to show the love they did on that one special night of the year.

JWs & Scientology
by APieceOfShitNamedTate ini've been trying to learn more about how scientology works in regard to how they investigate, interrogate, and discipline their members, and how similar their methods are to jehovah's witnesses.
i am currently pimo, and while i have never faced a judicial committee, the elders have tried to investigate me.
i won't go into detail, but basically it was just a case of me not wanting to reach out like they wanted me to.

When elders asked how come I wasn’t reaching out I said “as you brothers know, these are critical times we live in, the last of the last days. This isn’t the time to be heaping more on my plate. My plate is full, I’m looking to remove as much as I can from it.” They had nothing to say.

Nice write up in classic Watchtower style!
I also am in shock and awe by ones on here that see no big deal about what Tony did. They deflect and distract others with all sorts of questions to throw up a smoke screen.
As I said before, anyone that feels we’re overreacting has to shut their Bible and toss out all the Watchtowers and base everything off of their human reasoning. If that’s the case, they are putting Tony above Jehovah and his Word. They are essentially making him an idol and worshipping him.

Is there a new Date by the Watchtower for the End of System?
by William Penwell innot sure if this topic has being covered recently.. my son asked me a question if the jw's have in the recent months being pushing a new end date to the system?
he was telling me about how his mother has being on him again about the urgency of the end of this system of things and he needs to do something asap.
i told him i am not aware of any new dates as i have being away from the cult for over 20 years.

I sure hope they aren’t. We could find dozens of their articles condemning any JW that serves Jehovah for a date and an end.

@lastmanstanding
Let’s get the full context of that fulfillment.
Matthew 24:45-51
45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
46 Happy is that slave if his master on coming finds him doing so!
47 Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.
48 “But if ever that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’
49 and he starts to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards,
50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know,
51 and he will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his place with the hypocrites. There is where his weeping and the gnashing of his teeth will be.

How have so many been fooled into thinking and believing it’s acceptable for a child to make a vow to serve Jehovah till the day they die?
by BourneIdentity inwhen ….. you need to be 15 to obtain your drivers permit.
you need to be 16 to obtain your drivers license.
you need to be 17 to watch a r rated movie (alone without a parent).

When ….
- You need to be 15 to obtain your drivers permit
- You need to be 16 to obtain your drivers license
- You need to be 17 to watch a R rated movie (alone without a parent)
- You need to be 18 before being considered an adult
- You need to be 21 before being able to legally drink alcohol
- You need to be 25 to rent a car
*Note - these ages apply to the United States, and even some states may differ, but it applies to my area. Please don’t nitpick, I just want the point to come across.
Besides these things, the Society encourages everyone to wait till they’re past the bloom of youth before marrying. As we all know, most get married at 18 or shortly after because they are horny AF. The literature will say the person at 18 has no clue what they want, that they are still getting to know themselves and it is a long process. Yet they will trust a 8 year old when he/she says they love Jehovah and this is the vow they want to commit to! How is that even possible? How did all these millions of people get sucked in and believe this is the way it’s supposed to be??
You may say, the Scriptures back it up, that must surely be why we do it. No! All records in the Bible of any baptism was always to an adult, no infant or child baptism, none! What did Jesus do? He waited till he was 30 years old. How come the Society always encourages us to follow in Jesus footsteps, but they always seem to forget this one glaring thing?
For all of us who have awoken, we now see it. It has nothing to do with following the Bible, and has everything to do with locking children and their parents in. When these children get to be late 20s or early 30s and start thinking harder about things, they’re stuck. When parents start thinking about leaving, their children are baptized and they are very well aware will be shunned by them. They’re all stuck in and miserable. For the ones that will not tolerate it, they leave and then have to deal with the fallout of shunning.
It is crazy how the Society go beyond what is written and it’s so harmful to people. How do JWs honestly tell people everything they do is Scripturally based, they lie!!

You know how the Slave tells us all never to drink alcohol at dinner time on a meeting night? They don’t want us under any type of influence when we attend the meeting later that evening, because it would be disrespectful to Jehovah. I could see them ignoring their own counsel and sipping those scotches at any hour of the day. The rules don’t apply to them.
From the November 15, 2014 Watchtower: "Does this passage mean that we must not drink anything alcoholic before going to a Christian meeting? Think about these points: We are not under the Law. (Romans 10:4) In some lands, our fellow believers use alcoholic beverages in moderation at meals before attending meetings. Four cups of wine were used at the Passover. When instituting the Memorial, Jesus had his apostles drink wine that represented his blood."
Jehalapeno,
Looks like that must be new light. This was from the 1987 WT

That is a great idea to keep the kids interested.
I’ve heard several young boys say they are motivated to get baptized to do mics. It’s sad the Society dangles that carrot out in front of them like that, that decision changes their lives forever.
