The Society criticizes and blames the rank and file for coming up with dates, yet they constantly say we are on the brink of Armageddon, smh. The little boy who cried wolf is all that comes to mind. Or a broken clock tells the correct time twice a day, or a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.

No More After 34 (2034)
by blondie inmy husband and i were discussing the rally cry shortly before 1975, stay alive in 75 (1975), some here believe that the end might come in 2034 (some tongue in cheek) counting 120 years from 1914 the same internal between when god supposedly pronounced judgment on the people on the earth before the flood would come.. so it could be, no more after 34. i thought it was good and funny at the same time..

WT actor/singer's latest show
by neat blue dog inhe's constantly traveling and putting on night club/casino/etc.
shows.
don't know how he finds time for meetings, service and study.. .

Very interesting. From what I was reading, he’s been in show business since he was 4. I’m assuming the JWs religion must hire professional actors that aren’t JWs to do their dramas. It’s no wonder the quality has gotten 10x better.

I know I already created a post about this a week or so ago, but I have a little more to add to it.
I was watching it again and taking some notes this time. The speaker lists these reasons for people having anxieties:
- Providing for our families the necessities of life
- Dealing with a chronic illness
- Caring for a sick loved one
- Grieving the death of a loved one
- Loneliness
- Coping with a natural disaster
- Past or present abuse
His tips for us to stop being anxious are:
- Rely on Jehovah and take one day at a time
- Pour your heart out to Jehovah in earnest prayer
- Read and meditate on God's Word
- Share your feelings with a trusted friend
One thing I don't think they realize is anxiety is no different than depression for millions of sufferers. There doesn't have to be a reason why people are depressed, it's a chemical imbalance. It’s the same for anxiety, there doesn’t need to be reasons for anxiety, it's an issue with a chemical imbalance.
All this brother gave was spiritual advice, nothing about all the physical things that can be done to help alleviate anxiety. Some of these include:
- Therapy
- Medication
- Exercise
- Proper Diet
- Adequate rest and sleep
- Relaxation techniques
I know these brothers aren't mental health experts, doctors, nutritionists or personal trainers, their primary and only goal is to offer spiritual advice. But millions look to them for all the answers. They don't want to turn to the world for wisdom, they assume Jehovah will provide it all through his Organization. As can be seen from this, they have failed miserably.
When I look at all the sources of my anxiety over the years, hands down, it was all things related to the religion. The fear of The Great Tribulation and Armageddon coming at any moment, being persecuted, tortured and thrown into prison and being separated from my family by the authorities. Or less harmful things like answering at meetings, giving talks and going out in the field ministry. Once I distanced myself from all of this and faded, it was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, hardly any more anxiety. I would assume most JWs afflicted with mental disorders would be cured within 1-2 years of leaving and letting go of all the guilt and fear the religion puts upon you.

Besides the fear mongering, he is so busy with congregational responsibilities, he doesn’t even have time to visit his close friend in the hospital to say goodbye to him before he passes away. Isn’t that the truth, at least they portray things accurately how this Cult completely takes a persons time and relationships away from them!

Yes, more fear mongering, it’s so ridiculous.
In that same clip, he is so busy with congregational responsibilities, he doesn’t even have time to visit his close friend in the hospital to say goodbye to him before he passes away. No, he didn’t make any outrageous statement like that. But who knows, that could be coming Sunday in his concluding part!

Have any of you just had a recent circuit overseer visit? We have him this week and his opening night was a doozy. His whole talk focused on persecution. One of the videos he played was when the authorities raided the Kingdom Hall in Russia. They were holding guns and wearing masks. It was involving Dennis Christensen and his 6 year prison sentence. During the raid, they edited in some pretty serious dramatic music to scare ones. I felt bad for children watching it. The theme of the talk was something like Satan will have no success against us. I think the Organization or the CO picked that theme to sound encouraging, but it was just a scare tactic to get people to do more as always. I would think the Society would have ordered all circuit overseers to discuss this same thing, unless the circuit overseer has somewhat freedom to choose what he’s going to deliver during his visits. It just boggles my mind how JWs are supposed to be the happiest people on earth and sharing good news, which couldn’t be further from the truth. They are the most depressed people and share very bad news.

Anxiety
by BourneIdentity inthe first half of the may 2019 jw broadcast focused on anxiety.
for them to devote this much time to this issue is evidence there are many jws suffering from it.
i would assume at least half of the members from my observation over the years.

What bothered me about it is the tips they gave to people to reduce it will do nothing. They failed to mention the 2 biggest things one can do, take medication and exercise. There is no cure for the disorder, but those 2 things can help a a lot. Anxiety is a disorder, it’s not something we can just talk ourselves out of. The chemicals in our bodies need to be adjusted, either through medication and/or exercise (endorphins).
All of us know the agenda of the WT is to push people to serve them, so their tips aren’t surprising. But one would think they’d show some love and want to see their people gain some relief from this horrible disorder, rather than continue to tell them to pray to Jehovah. All this will do is cause more guilt when they do that and it doesn’t work, they are left assuming they are not good enough and Jehovah isn’t answering their prayers. I hope a lot of these anxiety sufferers look to the wisdom of the world to cope, because the Dubs sure aren’t going to be the answer for them.

JW Gone Bad
The Society always has bragged they aren’t like Christendom passing money plates around. These types of forms that get passed around are much worse, you are making a monthly commitment. Factor in how the Society has encouraged ones to donate their stocks, bonds, homes, land, 401k, jewelry, literally any asset and you can see its crystal clear they are 100 times worse than Christendom passing money plates around.

A little rant about prayer
by BourneIdentity inis god responsible for every good thing that happens in your life?
i ask this because a brother gave a talk several weeks ago and said that.
he said when anything positive happens, we must not assume it was by mere coincidence, but we have to have 100% confidence that jehovah cares for us and was involved.. however, people complain that jehovah doesn’t answer their prayers and are told you have to keep asking, you need to show him you really want it bad.

As moreconfusedthanever said, how come God doesn't answer the prayers of all the children being molested? Does he just let years go by so he can test out their endurance and faith in him? Another thing I find ironic is expressing our thanks to God for the meal we have in front of us or the roof over our head. What about the homeless people that pray for a better life? What about all the millions of people starving across the globe that pray for help? Does God just not care about them? Do they have a bunch of secret sins they're hiding? I have concluded some are just more fortunate than others, it has nothing to do with God blessing you.
