  what a wonderful time to be a jehovah’s witness!

  for the most part you don’t have to go and preach you don’t have to go to meetings and you can stay home and watch what happens on your ipad.

  these are the glory days!!

  The typical morning is drive to a territory and take 8-10 houses. By that time, the group is ready for a break. It’s easy to sit and chat for 45 minutes over food and coffee. Then you have a person take a return visit on one side of town and then someone else on the other side of town and your morning is complete. Everyone feels great that they served Jehovah fully that day! 🤮

  JWs want to preach right now so very badly, they feel the fish are biting

  they know many people are fearful and feeling vulnerable due to world events.. but something i’ve always considered is how will they be better off by becoming a jw.

  they can be a jw, but the world events still are happening causing everyone anxiety.

  and no, jws are not immune from this, jws are more anxious and paranoid as ever right now.

  I should have said the Uber Dubs. I would agree, the majority are very likely loving this break from it. Most only go through the motions to appear spiritual and appease family and friends.

  I think the majority of JDubs are going to find it VERY hard to want to go door to door once things get back to normal. The hardcore ones will be balling their eyes out and so grateful to be back out.

  growing up in the 70's and 80's in the jw religion who remembers the massive stadium gigs the watchtower used to hold?.

  we used to denounce false religion in the starkest of terms.

  we were right and by god we were letting anyone who listened know it.

  I do recall those times and how motivating they were. You would leave Sunday and really ponder over how you could give more to Jehovah, it was like a drug. We thought it was Holy Spirit working on us. I don’t know if it was more exciting back then or we were so deeply entrenched and brainwashed.

  All I know now is the conventions are boring as fuck and there is no semblance of those past times and excitement.

  But something I’ve always considered is how will they be better off by becoming a JW. They can be a JW, but the world events still are happening causing everyone anxiety. And no, JWs are not immune from this, JWs are more anxious and paranoid as ever right now.

  So really, what benefit do they get by converting? Is it just to feel like your better than everyone else and have all life’s answers? Which we know isn’t the case.

  They can’t even feel comfortable about learning there is no hell and going to a paradise earth, because most JWs I know aren’t sure they are good enough to make it. That comes from all the leaders preaching they are never doing enough, do more, give more! They are much worse off I feel, in a past religion they believed they were going to heaven with no doubts in their minds.

  Do any of you see what strong benefits someone gains by becoming one? The only thing I can possibly think of is the instant group of friends they gain.

  deaths: 359,791. recovered: 2,399,247. active cases 3,044,378. we need to throw out the active cases in our calculations, as we don’t know if those people will survive or die.

  deaths + recovered is 2,759,038. deaths/deaths + recovered = death rate.. 359,791/2,759,038 = 13%.

  i hope that within the next several months we will get back to some type of normalcy.

  will restaurants ever get filled again?

  One thing I’m very grateful this virus has brought is companies realization that workers can be productive at home. I feel we need to get at least 30-40% of people off the roads and working from home even when things are back to normal. We have far too much traffic and pollution with only a limited amount of oil. It’s so foolish to keep forcing all that so workers can be micromanaged in an office building.

  When all this blows over by summer of 2021, life will be back to normal. Anyone that says we need to wear masks for the rest of our lives is a moron.
