  i really miss christmas but don't have enough nerve to celebrate it.

  as jws we learned a lot about persuasion and how to get people to accept our ideas.

  we had role plays on over coming objections.

  we were taught how to anticipate typical questions and respond to them.

  i thought this was an interesting article that showed even the most "saintly" people struggle with their belief in god.

  i've always respected this woman and the work that she did.

  some interesting stats: the missionaries of charity, which she started, feeds 500,000 families a year in calcutta alone, treats 90,000 leprosy patients annually and educates 20,000 children every year.

  Ridiculous trips to the 'back room'

  the posts in the elders meeting thread got me thinking about this, so i've spun it off for into another thread.. were you ever 'counseled' because "some" in the congregation were disturbed by things you said/did/listened to/watched?.

  here is just some of the stupid stuff that the elders brought me in on.

  though they were usually handled through shepherding calls, not in the back room at the kh.. 1: because i decided to change my first and middle names.

  this is a complete list of "lyrically inappropriate" songs being banned from several us radio stations in the wake of the attacks.. "it's very dangerous," says nina crowley, director of massmic, a music free-speech organization.

  "i understand they're pulling certain violent songs.

  but you put out a list of songs like this, and the next thing you know someone's pulling the albums off the shelves in wal-mart.".
