Perhaps if I lived in a cloistered world, I wouldn't. It could happen anytime, anywhere.

Do you think you will ever experience terrorism yourself?
by freedom96 ini bet the people in the twin towers never thought they would be the victims of a terrorist attack.
sometimes the stuff that happens overseas seem so far away.
i look around my community and find it hard to believe that anything is going to happen here.. i live in southern califonia, near san diego, and who knows?

Poll- Did you have sex while unmarried when you were a JW?
by FreeofGuilt ini probably was the biggest slut in the kh- sex before baptized @ 13- sex after baptism when i was 17. oral sex about 5 times w/ different guys from the kh-- what can i say, i loved being a rebel, & love sex- i think the elders liked it to because i had to tell them the details (some guy always told), & they would probably get off later- never was disfellowshipped-- i am a good actress, but i thought the "holy spirit" guided them, well not because they believed my sobbing- --:-) kristine

I did really well for about 6 years in the borg. Then I met a fellow, and it was downhill from there. But, it was fun...

Doesn't that mean "lion dog" in Chinese or Mandarin? If so, it's a perfect name for that kind of dog. I had a boss who had 2 of them. Yappy but sweet things, they both lived to be 15/16 years old.

Wow, I wouldn't want to think how much I am on this forum. Put an hourglass in front of my computer and it's definitely way too much. But I love coming to this forum and expressing my thoughts.

i can say, that the death of a parent by suicide is something we never get over,... we just get thru it, we keep the memory of them alive by telling their stories to anyone with a listening ear.

I remember Ken Savoy. Poor Mr. Savoy, his wife died last year and he had a hard time adjusting to it. Remember his wife? She was always dressed to the nines and had the most beautiful complexion for a woman in her later years. I always respected Ken Savoy, he was one of the few people I could look at and not say "hypocrite." But then I remember when he admonished someone for pluralizing Revelation. Made you never want to raise your hand again!

Freedom:
I also spoke with her once. Actually that woman who screened her calls a few years ago, Carolyn Holt, was a beligerent, rude and nasty person to deal with. I know she has another person screening her calls now. I hope she's a bit nicer than the first person. But then that wouldn't be a hard thing to accomplish...

Cruzanheart is definitely a bright star on this forum. I knew her years ago when we went to the same congregation. They moved away from my former congregation in 1986 and this past year I found cruzanheart/Big Tex via this forum.
One of the things I do remember is that cruzanheart used to give the best answers at the Watchtower study! (And played a pretty mean JW song on the ivories!)

Those nude pictures of Dr. Laura are pretty easy to find out there on the Internet. Just type in Dr. Laura nude in google and you'll soon see them. They are really awful snapshots of someone who should have known better than to pose for such things. The topless ones are bad enough but those full frontal nudity ones are even more horrid!

I haven't listened to Dr. Laura in a while. I support her position on moms staying home while the kids are young. In years past, I have heard her defend the Jehovah's Witnesses. I heard her say one time she had a good friend who was a JW.
I remember a call from a young woman last year on dating in the JW's. Her mother and sister were pressuring her to date a much older man in the congregation, she was 21 and he was in his late 30's, early 40's. Dr. Laura said dating such an older man was not wise because generally you have absolutely nothing in common. The young JW girl said about not dating outside the faith. Dr. Laura wasn't concerned so much about the dating practices in JW's as that this young woman and older man would not have anything in common other than religion. Dr. Laura couldn't support it and advised against it. She also told that girl not to listen to her mother and sister!
