144000....DO THE NUMBERS ADD UP?????

as jws we were told only 144000 go to heaven from the time of christ right up to this day.it dawned on me before i was baptized one day during my study that the numbers dont add up.

the brother was telling me that the roman persecutions of the christians were killing thousands every week.

initially, within weeks of jesus death, there were 5000 christians at least in jerusalem.

I hate AOL...

The joys of field service

i posted this as a response under another post, but i couldn't resist starting a topic on it...lol.

does this sound familiar to anyone???

when i was a jw, i thought there was nothing cooler than getting up at 7 a.m. on saturday, getting showered, putting on dress clothes, meeting at 8:30 a.m., answering a bunch of phony 'how are you this morning's', watching as people jockey for position in their favorite car groups so that they could be with their friends (because god forbid you get stuck in a car group with someone not in your clique), and miss looney tunes while listening to some lame attempt at a 30-second presentation by brother monotonous, then being sure to get out by 9:00 a.m. 'cuz if you were with brother rule-conscious you couldn't start your time until you knocked on that first door.

The only joy I had ever in field service was when it was raining and we did RV's. We could get three, four hours in doing that...

Followup on activity at NYC Bethel

i posted something a few days ago on friends regarding printing still being done in nyc.

i have some new info and am putting it under scandals because it doesn't move so fast.. i have family members that just returned from a trip to nyc.

they did the tours in brooklyn, walkill and patterson.

I went to Graceland last year...not worth the nearly 30.00 ticket price. The best thing to do at Graceland. Go in the morning when it's free to the burial site of Elvis et al and then buy a souvenir across the street. That's the cheap way to see Graceland!
