Tonight, hope Kimberley ROCKS American Idol
by morrisamb ini know most of you american idol watchers perfer clay or reuben...and they are both worthy winners...(last year i would have croaked if kelly clarkson didn't win!
)...but i'm sure you'll agree it will be more fun if all 3 give outstanding performances tonight and it's not a token night tomorrow!

Kimberly is great, I think she's more talented than Kelly Clarkson. I still say Ruben is going to win. I hope to see Clay on Broadway. What a commanding voice he has.

Cruising for chicks/guys @ assemblies.
by avishai inyup, the one thing i miss about assemblies.
the chase.
sneaking off at lunch and/or half the afternoon session to make out w/ someone you just met.

I found the cruising for the opposite very boring and almost desperate in nature. I cruised the halls to help me with the boredom that existed during the "blah blah blah" or "Keep Jehovah First" sessions.

If This Place Was A Congregation, Who Would Be The Elders, MS and CO's?
by minimus ini know some of you hate the idea of jwd being like a congregation but just for fun, let's imagine who would "serve" as the elders (presiding overseer, secretary, service overseer) etc.
and what "privileges" you would be given.

I would be the disfellowshipped one, sitting in the parking lot within earshot of the front door so I could hear the music start, then I'd walk in, and put my head down and sit in the back row. I'd make sure I wouldn't smile at anyone in the bathroom so no one would think I was acknowledging them and therefore, "having association with them." Then at the end of 2 hour blah blah blah session, I'd leave right before the last song knowing this is what Jehovah would want me to do, because I've been a bad girl and I need to repent.

KILLING ME SOFTLY
by RAYZORBLADE init has been a very long...in fact decades since i've heard the original version of this masterpiece:
roberta flack's: killing me softly (1973)
i was at a local pub here in rayzorblade's neighbourhood, and there was a showcase featuring local indie talent.

Remember the song "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face" - by Roberta Flack. I watched "Play Misty for Me" this past weekend on cable. What a great movie, Jessica Walter playing Evelyn. What a great prelude to "Fatal Attraction." And seeing Clint in his underwear wasn't bad either.

Kingdom Hall Spankings
by JH inmost meetings i went to, children were brought to the washrooms in the back to be disciplined.
often i could hear a child yell or cry due to the spanking given by the parent.
people in the hall would have that look on their face meaning that it was alright to discipline a child by spanking him.
-

Why is it all of us ex Jw's remember the spanking the children the most? Why is it every summer at the conventions, I would see and hear parents become child abusers in the halls and bathrooms. And nothing was ever done! I will remember this like it was yesterday. I hated those people who did that!

Cruise Tips Anyone?....
by Sentinel inhubby and i are about to embark on our first cruise this coming weekend.
we fly to ft. lauderdale, and sail to key west and then to cozumel and back to ft lauderdale.
(five days, four nites) we are on the royal caribbean line, and our ship is the enchantment of the seas.. have any of you taken this cruise before?

I cruised almost 20 years ago. So much has changed since then, so I can't offer any current advice. One thing I do remember, you have to pay for every alcoholic beverage you drink on the ship. That's why I smiled at the guys and they usually bought my drinks, which is why my drink tab was under $20.00 at the end of the cruise.
