Every October there's an ex JW conference near Allentown, PA. I've been several times; it's a great place to get it all out; however it's Christian based so if you're not ready for that; you may not like it....

by somlat ini feel a little odd in posting this..... i am a 39 year old former witness, former elder, former just about everything.
been through much in the last two years... realized not all things i believed were true to me, not all things in the faith work the way i thought.
no anger about the past... i did what i believed to be true to myself, and what others do is their decision.

If you're dismissed from Bethel, are you eligible for unemployment?
by TresHappy in.
or do they give you a new suit and $50.00 plus some subway tokens and does someone put a yellow ribbon around the ol' oak tree since you've done your time?

Did you watch "Soap Operas" while you were a JW and was it a "sin" to watch
by booker-t ini remember that in the mid to late 1980's the wt wrote a condemning article on watching "soap operas".
i was wondering if the society felt it was a "sin" for jw's to watch soaps or was it just an admonishment.
my jw "pioneering" aunt used to love watching "all my children" and mentioned it to her pioneer partner.

I remember an elder's wife telling me I shouldn't watch Knots Landing. I had been watching that show since it started in the late 1970's and always loved it (wasn't as good after Donna Mills left the cast). Then one night I saw her watching Knots Landing's big sister "Dallas", she told me it was OK to watch that because we lived in the Dallas area! I then stopped watching anything soap opery, just in case Jehovah didn't approve. Guess what soap I tape everyday? The 1990 story line from Another World currently broadcast on Soapnet! Also watch Desperate Housewives but its novelty is wearing off; they need to kill off another cast member to make it interesting? Maybe Felicity Huffman - since she almost won an Oscar?

If rumors are anything, Todd Newton is apparently the heir to the Price of Right job. At 80 plus years, Bob Barker is cranky and forgetful during many of the tapings. I attended a taping last year and some girl was so excited about being picked, she consulted her husband for everything on her bidding. She couldn't hear him (or anything) in the studio and Bob would continually yell for her to bid - finally he cussed and said give me a f____ bid. That's when the taping stopped and the producers went out to Bob to calm him down. In order to be fair, they brought out another prize to be offered. Bob muddled an apology and the taping went on. Bob Barker needs to retire; I don't know if Todd Newton is the correct host; but Bob has lost all his civility. I can't really blame him though; some of those people that get picked are dumber than a stump! -

He did a lot of infomercials the past few years and sold real estate in Beverly Hills. The game show gigs ran out a long time ago.

Yes, he had 3 grown children from a previous marriage. Here's a photo of Peter and his wife from this past December I found on the net.

www.findadeath.com is a great website. I've been going there for years to read this guy's experiences of living in LA and being obsessed with the deaths of celebrities. When they tear down LA landmarks, he goes and gets pieces of rubble. When they were tearing down the house that Sharon Tate was killed in a few years ago, he stole some of the brick from the original fireplace. Reading his website is hilarious. He's used to be the boyfriend of Graham Norton.
Here's Tiny's daughter with her new daughter...she sort of looks like him but thank God she looks like her Mom. Her kids are adorable!

If the householder would say to a Pioneer sister - I'd like to have every one of the magazines in your Stoops Genuine Leather Service Bag plus all your inventory in the trunk of your car. I'd like to start my Bible study now and be baptized tomorrow. What time should I start running my bath water?
