On JT,s web site Critical Thought he talks about counting all the money collected and how it is double checked, but who ever audits the main Org, the IRS? Is there a secretary that monitors the money coming and going, just to keep everyone honest?

a spouse that is fully brain doogled in and you are awake to ttatt.. without going into serious detail and no names are given.

i would like to possible talk with one of you all, it's just so helpful to communicate with someone in the same situation as me.. i am located in the southwest united states..

my spouse is getting more and more annoying ever since they starting encourageing use of their videos. She just found out how to use technology and plays them constantly on her smart phone to no one,s delight but her. Bought her some headphones, but thinks others around her would like to hear the gibberish so doesn't use them often.

why do so many witnesses end up coming to forums like this?.

no doubt it is because of the fact that the society disallows any form of sincere questioning of teachings or doctrines or history etc.... if there was open discussion allowed - free of repercussions and punishment, then no one would feel stifled.

if genuine concerns could be raised, then no one would feel smothered or unable to share thoughts... then in turn many would not leave.... but due to the high control, authoritarian culture the society has created, many feel trapped, and end up searching outside of official channels...and leaving the society.....

If the gave up 1914, allowed blood transfusions, stopped knocking on doors, stopped smirking at Christendom, reported all pedafiles to police, then maybe we could go back.

i haven't seen anyone stopped for speeding on our freeways in some time.. wth it's dangerous out there, i'm driving 69-72 mph and someone pass me at 80-85 mph.. here in southern ca it,s crazy.

the speed limits are 65-70 mph.

i'am nervous as hell when i'am on the.

it's been a long time since i attended, but i understand that many of you still go to the kingdom hall for your various reasons.. a huge thing that helped me in my mentally breaking from their beliefs was to stop using their terms that put you, virtually automatically, into their thought mode.. using terms like "the truth," jw's feel special about themselves and this helps them separate themselves from "the world.

" by incorporating loaded language, jw's learn not to think, but merely to memorize words and phrases instead of analyzing a situation.. the reasons someone misses meetings is because they are "spiritually weak.

" they might be involved in "worldly thinking.".

Tech49 on DC: Experiences are not truthful

i was sent a link to a homemade video from our summer district convention, not the one i attended, but the next weekend.

it was a video of a local brother, relating his "experience" of "trusting in jehovah", and how he was blessed.. it was just about 1 short minute long.

ms harper showed it to me first, she wanted to get my comment on it before she said a word.. background: we both know this brother, he is about our age, so we know the "real" story.. anyways, his story goes like this: this experience goes back about 10 years (jeez, we must be really searching for the experiences now!).

So many stories are blatantly made up in each Watchtower, made to fit each paragraph . Example, Chantell in France relates..., Paul in Australia says..., with each study you will find at least 4 stories with only the first name quoted because they know they are making it all up. covering up of abuse, shunning, failed end of world predictions?.

my list is long and heavy, but the top 3 that set me off the most are:.

selfishness, not offering to pay for any rides, no matter how many years people get a ride and never offering to pay for gas . Only when at assembly it is mentioned that you need to help with the cost of transportation they give like it is a gift and they go for another 2 years without paying anything.

Resolutions at Kingdom Hall

anyhow i got to thinking today about my days in the borg and the resolutions that would intermittently be made in the announcements for co visit expenses, sending a donation to society www fund etc.

my point is that while i was in (almost thirty two years) i never once saw anyone put up their hand to vote against a resolution that the body of elders proposed.

on a couple of occasions i heard a few hushed murmurs but i never saw one person vote against.

kinda like at work the company would ask for a vote to see whether to start at 5 am on the day before a holiday so all can get off early. Most all in my department voted overwhelmingly against coming in early, but the company seemed to win their way all the time. I figure its just the golden rule...the man with the gold makes the rules...
