I worked for the circus back in the 70,s just staying alive till 75, haha. I had to shovel elephant turds from the 3 ring circus and rush in and pick them up with a shovel, they were quite hard. On the same show I was to bring one camel and other guys had 4 more. My camel was way towering over me and as we waited for our turn to bring the camel to the ring, my camel started BRRRrring and dribbling from his lips looking at the camel in front of him. After a couple minutes, he was getting so restless that he jumped on the camel in front and a melee started. All the camels trotted wildly into the circus and trying to jump each other. I let mine go and just chased them around. The croud was laughing and enjoying the wild camel hump show. The y all ran out and escaped the perimeter and ran away. Police had to be called to locate them, needless to say were were all fired for not hanging on. This was in Central Texas town that most people have heard of, college town.

I Just Heard a Birthday Song...

so i'm sitting in public area, reading the end of faith (it's pretty clear sam harris is making a case against faith and not some generalized version of islam, so i don't get all those misplaced objections...), and i just heard a group of people sing a birthday song.. i was surprised.

but not because someone was singing a birthday song.

i was surprised because of my reaction.. i wish i could say my reaction was normal, but it wasn't.

KISS - Knights In Satan's Service

growing up as a jw, i was told that kiss stood for knights in satan's system (or service).. i just did a google search and learned it's not true.

it's actually not an acronym for anything.. to be honest, apparently it's not just the jws who believe it means something related to satan.. http://www.snopes.com/music/hidden/kiss.asp.

one day paul [stanley] and peter [criss] and i were driving around, brainstorming for new names.

Always thought KISS was Keep it Simple Stupid (or Sam), just like FORD was Fix Or Repair Daily or Found On Road Dead. Just playing with words.

My New Fascination - Evolution!

since leaving watchtower i kind of hit the "reset" button in my mind and reevaluated what i thought i knew, what i believe and i require proof for every idea put before me before i commit to it.

lately i've been fascinated with evolution.

as a jw i never even looked at the subject, dismissing it as "just a theory".

Truth and Honesty? Why is it only a one-way street??

the society, "gods channel" teach and expect truth and honesty from all witnesses.

scripures are often quoted to promote such.. but, why is it only a one way street?

why is the society not truthful and honest with witnesses?

The way they interpret the word crucify is just one example of how they go to great lengths to be dishonest. Its so obvious when they write "to the stake with him" instead of just one word "crucify". Just try to mention this word to a "still in", like "the cavillers were Crucified by golden state" and they will just cringe and change the subject. just purposely try to use the word crucify around them and they will start to shun you

Ted talk

i like to watch ted talks.. a recent one i watched was "why i left the westboro baptist church" x megan phelps-roper.

i have never heard of this church ever before after all i am in australia.

the talk and all the young woman stated as beliefs and dogma sounded just like the jw minus the noisy demos..
