  i know of several minister.

  with apologies to laverite.... growing up as a jw i always imagined the new system (tm) as being just like it's presented in the literature (tm).

  i thought we'd all be hanging around with dorky looks on our faces, petting tigers and panda bears all day while we eat fruit and practice our dorky grins.. peronsally, i've never seen an illustration from the society showing modern conveniences.

  the people in the illlustrations are always working in a garden somewhere (while wearing meeting clothes) or looking heavenward with a frontal lobotomy smile.. i think to be able to survive in this new world, i would need alcohol and lots of it.

  Does Genesis 19 condemn Homosexuality?

  there are many "proof" texts that people (including jws) use to justify their rejection of anyone that is gay.

  there are a few scriptures that you can pull up and try to make a case for show homosexuals why they are evil and wrong.. i've been researching more of these scriptures and i'm coming to some very different conclusions than many other christians hold, especially jws.

  i wanted to talk about the first text used by many people to condemn homosexual behaviour.

  Is there a Logical explanation for the spooky things happening at my daughter, Ali's house?!?!!!!

  ok.... looking for some logical explainations.... my daughter, ali, who i've been posting about on the forum...who has developed congestive heart failure.... has had some spooky experiences lately in her house.

  here are a few of the things that happened:.

  about a month ago, ali and her son david, heard noises from the attic above ali's bedroom...that sounded like something was being dragged across the attic floor.

  what did you imagine as far as transportation in the new system (tm)?

  Dinner With a Pioneer Couple Last Night

  my wife and i had dinner with a pioneer couple last night that we've been friends with for a long time.

  they are both nice people, with the wife having a few dashes of pretentiousness mixed in.. usually when we are together, they always talk about pioneering, which makes some sense as it's the primary focus of thier lives.

  however, it has gotten progressively more dominate in conversation over the last couple of years, to the point of being annoying.

  Job and sin

  job refers to sins he didn't commit, he also refers t laws, elders, court.

  just what sin since the law of god hadn't been given yet?

  what court, what laws was he referring to.

  Many years ago, when I was a zealous pioneer. Along with another pioneer we were conducting a bible study with an older man. I got him to find and read a scripture from Job.

  I then asked him to 'keep his finger in Job' while we looked up another scripture. He started laughing and it took us green young men a moment to realize the ambiguity of what I had said. In the end we were all laughing. I have never looked at Job in the same way since.

  Could "this generation" simply be the generation of fleshly humans

  i was thinking about that and the crazy confusion of generational rangling being handed over by the gb.. maybe jesus simply refered to fleshly humans as a whole generation knowing he would be the first fruits of a "new generation" of spiritual creatures.. the gb have tried to rework the generational mess but it doesn't improve the outcome.. it would make more sense if we considered that the great crowd (new generation) were in heaven instead of on earth.. again just kicking things around!.

  i think we will agree that the wt holds it that the bible is the inerrant word of god.

  this is an idea that i just learned from a blog.. the idea is very, very simple:.

  the bible is considered "inerrant" and "sufficient".. meaning, it contains no errors, but it is also all you need for salvation.

  After so much debate on the merits of the Bible it must be clear that it has been put together in a deliberately ambiguous way. It is all things to all people. Whatever you want it to be. A luck dip, one size fits all, romp of a story. What more could a boy or girl want?

  Some passages are errant others inerrant. You choose. If you don't agree with one writer then pick another. Christians can't agree amongst themselves. Agnostics and athiests spend vast amounts of time debating the accuracy of a book they don't believe in. And baiting Christians, who in return welcome the opportunity to strengthen their faith and flex their spiritual muscles.

  Is Bible debate the most widespread sport in the world?

  Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it. It's great fun. Long may the sport continue! As long as it doesn't cost us our grip on reality. Ex Jehovah's witnesses have all made that mistake before.
