before you women jump all over me, this is just a observation.. first of all at least in this country women out number men in religion,.
across the board,(jw,s,baptist, catholic etc.
) you walk in any church.
Sprituality has been equaly demonstrated in both men and women. The western preference for male dominated religion is recent and doomed to pass away in time.

According to the bible, gentle Jesus is going to crush his enemies and dash kings to pieces before his sits on his heavenly throne and shepherds the nations with an iron rod. Also turn weapons into farm tools and slaughter a great many horses while he's at it.
This being the case we will have to wait a while longer for his holiness to get his finger out.

Given the many millions of years that creatures have swarmed over this plant for, my guess is that if a god was going to show up he would have arrived by now.
I mean, we even have airplanes now, so there is no excuse for going AWOL.

Does any one seriously debate the existence of the managing director of the company they work in? Or the existence of the USA President?
Personaly, I am unable to understand why belief in a god is necessary. God either is or is not. Belief should not be a requirement. All that should concern us is whether the god believes in us. If we are reduced to debating the god's existence, then it has seriously failed in its job description.
i have not posted for a while and have actually not been on for a while but i have had to post cus i am just livid!!!.
me and my husband and 2 children stopped going nearly a year ago after numerous issues, and basic doubts.
while we were in the cong i had an 'incident' with a brother who claimed to love me and wanted to leave his wife for me.
reading a thread from just a few months ago, made me realise that a lot of people who used to be regular contributors here no longer do so.. i know that people have always moved on, as the anger and hurt get less, as the wt mind-set totally disappears, we feel the need to come here less and less, but because of the intelligence, insight, wit and wisdom of these people, the board is somewhat impoverished each time one of these moves on.. this is a plea to all who post now, and some who still read but don't post, please do not leave us entirely, the contributions on here are literally life-saving for many.
it is easy to get dangerously suicidal when the whole wt pack of cards falls down for you.. please do not become a stranger to us !.
Most come here to vent their frustration at the WT. After much debate and education they move to a new position.
The Atheists debate the Christians and visa-versa, until the energy is spent. It's fun, exciting and therapeutic. Then we settle down and get on with living in the real world.

Ah! Terry - I have missed your sobering input recently. It's good to see you are still around and applying sound reasoning and logic to matters that require - sound reasoning and logic.
We all have various beliefs. They are the glue that holds the fragmented parts of our individual world together. When there is perfect harmony, the pieces fit like a jigsaw. The more in touch with reality our world is, the less glue we need. To be glue free is perfection.

The world of men is full of deception and trickery. Trying to ensnare others and gain the upper hand, each seeking their own advantage. Religion, government and individuals do this.
Of course so does the whole animal kingdom, of which we are a part. Using camouflage, webs, poison, disguise and sheer strength, each creature seeks to kill and often eat anything weaker than itself. It's called the law of the jungle.
Not a pretty picture. Getting angry at the god that created all this violent and selfish world would be justified but I won't for two reasons.
1) No such god exists.
2) The world with all its faults, works well for me and I do so enjoy a rare steak.
