  i recieved this in an email this morning: thanks, man.

  it was the accepted practice in babylon 4,000 years ago that for a. month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink.

  mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month or what we know today as the honeymoon.. tr

  I am always surprised by the Wt attitude towards beards. When I was involved no bearded brother (or sister!)was allowed to be a servant or elder though in a few back-waters beards were tolerated.

  Shaving is a pagan habit unheard of amoung the early Christinas. The WT were slow to realize this and some of their earlier calenders around1960 showed Jesus as clean shaven. The Egyiptians, Greeks and Romans shaved, the Jews and early Christians did not. Russell had a beard and that was ok at the time, which means the WT follow their idea of fashion and custom. The ban on beards has no Biblical support, in fact it is more Christ like to wear a beard. How long before the wearing of a beard is compulsary. A new truth/new light about to shine out of Bethal - maybe! Unless the WT own shares in Gillette razors.

  i admit that at first i took her at face value which is what we are all supposed to do.

  Hi Frenchy,

  I think you are right Danielle was out for a little fun. I never took her/him seriously and replied with humour. I liked the way she/he acted like a strict teacher and slapped us all in to place.I needed a firm hand to make me behave.

  The style was very tounge in cheek and I was amused by the way she/he was able to stir up so much emotion. I would have liked her to stay for a while and said so but unfortunately she/he was being greedy and posting too much - needed a slap I'll wager.

  is it a miracle?

  recently, in a debate with my self-righteous uncle come elder, i tried to tell him about the jimmy swaggert case involving the charging of literiture, and he said the production of magazine,s etc.

  was a miracle from jehovah, is it safe to tell him that some countries still charge for literiture, and if so which ones ??

  is it only countries that conflict with wtbs paying tax ?

  The WT do still charge for literature. Their 6,000,000 members pay for every publication they use and all those they help to distribute. With such a captive audience and an average printing of over 22,000,000 million Per Watchtower they are raking it in. The pretence of only accepting 'volintary contributions' from house-holders is just a tax avoidance scam to maintain charity status. What charities are their spare millions given to?

  Christ said 'you will always have the poor' obviously he was not refering to the money grabing WT Society.

  Hi Danielle,

  Thank you for replying to my helpful advice. You are right I am shallow and the 'you' word was an accident - I just can't spell. I do however realize the seriousness of my sin and have repented.

  I have been looking for someone strong and firm to take me in hand for a while now. I think you could be the answer to my prayers. I hope you will stay around and continue to be strict with me. By the way should I cut the labels of my boots? I know I can trust you to say the right things. Bless you.

  As you can see I am based in the UK and have to make a decision at time s on whether to spell UK style or USA style. Many words are different For example.

  baptism/baptizm
  Judaeo/Judeo
  realise/realize
  organise/organize
  colour/color

  There are many others so, if you think I can't spell - you are right but some of my 'mistakes' are quaint English ways. I have noticed that the USA way of spelling is becoming more the norm now. The New English Bible printed by the English Oxford/Cambridge in 1970 uses USA speling as it more universally accepted. Could this be the end of the Empire?

  i'm just curious, as your prophesies are directed at jehovahs witnesses, why do you keep posting to this board?

  most here are having big problems with jw's, and are either already out or on our way out.

  if your messages and retributions are for those who are still strongly jw, why not direct your messages at *them* me thinks you are in the wrong place.

  I was intrigued by you title for this topic.' Do demons infest - this disscussion board or is it me?'
  I think you are being too hard on yourself, besides you already know that only a spirit creature can be a demon.

  The organized way in which this board works is reminiscent of those large assemblies we have witnessed and proof that God's spirit is at work and dwells among his chosen people taken out of many nations and gathered together on this site.

  I know we are admonished to have our feet shod with the good news of the kingdom but my Italian walking boots are carrying the makers label 'Demon.' Should I throw them out of just cut off the label?
