  dubs like to speculate.

  about almost everything: how life will be in the new world ordertm, how and when armageddon is going to happen, whether the latest newspaper headline really signals that armageddon is about to start, what the latest new lighttm is going to be, and on and on.. so heres something to also speculate about.

  suppose that jehovah paid a personal visit to the wts leaders and said, .

  Hi Farkel,

  That's a very interesting post. You have a creative mind.You have got the hidden adgenda of the WT out in the open. They are a political party in sheeps clothing.

  Jehovah's Witnesses have no interest in present governments because they already have a government of their own. The Watchtower Society issues laws, makes judgements, appoints leaders and controls every aspect of their lives, even over-ruling the law of the land if they see fit. They have voted for the Watchtower Society, which does not welcome the efforts of politicians to influence their members.

  The Society seeks total control, and looks forward to the day when all governments are destroyed, leaving them to assist with the world's administration. The masthead of the Watchtower magazine states that it is non-political. This statement has to be examined closely in view of the fact that members of the Governing Body, along with many thousands of other members, expect to rule from heaven as kings. Some of the elders expect to be princes on earth. This means that they consider themselves to be part of a Royal Family. If, say, the British Royal Family started to publish statements saying that all governments were evil and due to be destroyed by God, to make way for rule by them, would the present British political parties consider their statements to be non-political?

  Their claim to political neutrality is based on the idea that they are against all governments except their own. This idea is not new. Throughout history world leaders have desired to be part of an all-conquering world Empire, Dynasty or Reich but they never claimed to be non-political.

  For a Witness to support any political party, other than the Watchtower Society, would be considered an act of treason. The Witnesses' stance on this, and many other anti-establishment issues, is only feasible for a small group. Their opting out of the system would not be possible were it not for the order that is afforded by the organized efforts of society as a whole.

  Bet you wish you had never asked!

  and what about the lollards the waldenses or the anabaptists were they all apostate?.

  I'M AN APOSTATE!

  I have two heads because it's a step further than just being two faced. My horns are sharp to gore the JWs that call. I live in darkness with the curtains always closed as I am allergic to light besides I am always naked and don't want to shock the post man with my non-stop orgies.

  Since joining the Devil, I have slowly turned green started drinking blood. I still subscribe to The Watchtower magazine, as I prefer it to toilet paper. The neighbours have complained about my frequent barbecues but a sacrifice cooked in the electric oven is just not the same. The demons love it here and bring their own Budweiser and cigarettes. Apart from that I am totally normal except when there is a full moon and I turn into a wolf, which the wife loves.

  i found the terse, typed letter displayed above sitting on my microwave oven when i got home from work a few months ago.

  it was addressed to me from my best friend and brother-in-law of many years.. a couple of days before we got into a discussion over "what was wrong with me.

  " i had recently grown a goatee that he thought was extremely 'unchristian'.

  Thanks for showing the letter. I left the Tower 15 years ago but my family still saw me - sort of - we never really met. Two weeks ago my brother (an elder) came round. I told him I have a book on the Jws coming out. In just two weeks I have received letters from three family members ending our little family farce. Just three days ago this one arrived from my parents. Please don't feel sorry for me. I am at last free after 15 years of biting my tongue and showing love and tolerance to people who were not worth the candle. I may show all the letters together on a separate thread when I get around to it.

  I and your mother were shocked to hear from Neil & Pat, when we visited them last week end, that you have for sometime been working against the Good News of the Kingdom', thus opposing Jehovah & His people and are now publishing a book in your endeavour to dissuade people in accepting the Kingdom message. Our biggest grief was some years ago, when you told us that you and Esther had rejected the 'truth,' but we eventually came to terms with the sad situation. We have hoped and prayed that one day you would turn back to Jehovah's love and his people, slim as that hope seemed, but saddened to see clearly that your situation is much worse Trevor, so much so that your mother and 1 you must understand, cannot any longer justify any further association with you. Yet we hope still that while there is still time that you may repent and turn round.

  despite an abundance of evidence that hits at the heart of the wts, it should be no surprise that many seem to ignore everything and continue.

  you may wonder why particularly as many of us were in the wts and did not ignore the comprehensive mass of proof against the claims and teachings made.

  typically brothers can enjoy themselves as elders.

  The above posts are excellent. I can only applaud the insight and understanding that you have all attained. You are brave people who have made a stand for truth. Truth can sometimes be a quiet place and courage often goes unrecognized but peace of mind is the final prize.

  Most JWs would be offended to be told they are part of a high mind control cult. Those in it's powerful grip are incapable of seeing it.

  Hi MacHislopp,

  It is not clear from your post whether you mean Christins or JWs.

  The idea of therapy is to help the person involved to become aware of the contradictions and unresolved issues in their life. Then the process of change takes place. The essential ingredient is the willingness of the client to make the changes in their belief structure that are necessary to effect an emotional change.

  Before any Witness could successfully go through therapy they would have to be asked if they were prepared to examine their whole life choice and act upon the revelations that good therapy would result in. If the Witness is totally committed to their rigid, unchangeable mindset the result could be a botched job, which will leave them worse off than before.

  Many Witnesses, like all cult members, deny there is anything wrong in their lives until the emotional mind takes over and acts for them. The result is a nervous breakdown, which precipitates the needed changes.

  Witnesses believe that those going to therapy leave the Organisation as a result. It is usually the case that those who go to therapy are usually on their way out anyway and have already realized the need for change.

  i just recieved this in my email today and i thought i would share.

  a well known speaker startes off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill in a room of 200 people, and asked," who would like this $20 bill?".

  hands started going up.. he said," i am going to give this $20 bill to one of you, but first let me do this..." he proceeded to crumple the $20 bill up.. he then asked," who still wants it?".

  the title of this thread was one of the stumbling blocks of my study.

  as a single full time father(with no time for dating)of a soon to be tenage son this was a major point of imprt to me.

  FROM THE ELDERS MANUAL;

  Sexual misconduct, including; adultery, fornication, and
  other forms of "por.ne'a.."

  Uncleanness includes an intentional momentary touching
  of sexual parts or caressing of breasts. ( I Thess. 4:7, 8;
  1 Tim. 5:1,2).........

  There is a need for strong counsel, admonition, and
  assistance to help the individual to maintain chaste
  conduct in the future.

  If not corrected, such conduct may escalate in gravity
  and by frequent repetition become loose conduct.

  Loose conduct is a shocking, flagrant disregard for Jeho-
  vah's moral standards. (Gal. 5:19; w83 3/15 p. 31; w73
  9/15 pp. 574-6)

  It may include the willful practice of heavy petting or
  the fondling of breasts.

  The nature, circumstances, and actual extent of what
  has occurred may indicate loose conduct, which would
  require judicial action.

  Such practices can easily lead to por.nei´a.

  "Por.nei´a" involves immoral use of the genitals of at least
  one human ( whether in a natural or a perverted way ), and
  there must have been another party to the immorality‹a
  human of either sex or a beast; willing participation incurs
  guilt and requires judicial action. It is not a casual touch-
  ing of the sex organs between persons but involves the
  manipulation of the genitals. (w83 6/1 pp. 23-6; w83
  3/15 pp. 30-1)

  It includes oral and anal sex or mutual masturbation
  between persons not married to each other, homosexu-
  ality, lesbianism, fornication, adultery, incest, and bes-
  tiality. (Lev. 20:10, 13, 15, 16; Rom. 1:24, 26, 27, 32;
  1 Cor. 6:9, 10)

  Also included are sexual abuse of children, including
  practices involving a catamite (a boy kept for purposes
  of sexual perversion). (Deut. 23:17, 18, Ref.: Bi., ftns.)

  Victims of sexual abuse need to be treated with
  extreme thoughtfulness and kindness. Elders should
  always do what they reasonably can to protect
  children from further abuse;
  follow the Society's directives on such matters. (g85 1/22 p. 8)

  Self-abuse, or masturbation, is not Porna'a," nor
  would one who was raped be guilty of por.nei´a. (w83
  3/15 p. 30; w74 3/1 p. 160; it-l pp. 862-4; tp p. 144)

  The term por.nei´a lays emphasis on both the lewd
  nature and the intent of the person's conduct, and it
  embraces all illicit sexual activity characteristic of that
  found in a house of prostitution.

  Copulation (as in penetration) is not necessary to
  constitute por.nei'a, and neither is sexual climax.

  In borderline cases, it is the responsibility of the
  judicial committee to weigh carefully the Scriptures
  and the particular facts in the case to determine
  whether por.nei'a was involved.

  It seems that masterbation is ok now. Why did they change the rules just as I gave up?

  When I was in a pub after a meeting, many years ago, I was given some timely advice from an ex-soldier who guessed my predicament - 'Never let your tool go rusty young Trevor.'

  The Poor JW Children

  the children.

  there are many things that could be changed, and even though i would never go back, i think there are some very basic changes they could make in their child rearing practices, simple changes that would make a big difference in their society.. 1. don't force small children to sit for two hours in a chair.. this was discussed at length on the thread about slapping children at the kingdom hall.. 2. don't bring children to meetings where the subject has to do with adult sexual practices.. 3. don't tell teenagers that they can't ask someone out for a date unless marriage is on their mind.. 4. don't tell them that they are not special, that they have to humble themselves and be like everyone else.. 5. don't tell them they have to get good grades through high school as a reflection of what jehovah has given them and then tell them they can't go to college when they graduate from high school at the top of their class.. 6. don't tell your wordly neighbors that you give your children presents all through the year, but not on their birthday, when they have never seen a special gift wrapped present in their life.. 7. don't expect a shy child to enjoy going from door to door and don't expect an extroverted, lively child to sit still at meetings.. 8. don't tell an inquiring child not to ask questions and don't tell them not to read interesting books.. 9. don't surprised if you don't change your ways that your children will leave you, even though they love you.

  I am so rusty. I had no idea that the Watchtower society had changed its policy towards education since 1985. I guess us apostates just aren't privy to all the latest changes. I knew that God would speed it up in his own time but that is fast.

  I take it all back. You young Witnesses should go to college and get a career underway. Why not marry and raise a family. Put your children through college or university and THEN - Get out there and pioneer - and don't let anything 'fleshy' get in the way.
