I hope you can stay friends. Try not to bring up blood!
some here may recall my relating of loosing my cousin due to shunning.
he and i were 'best friends' for 35 years or so, and in the past year he has not spoken or contacted me, though i have made several attempts at this.
this week, a common friend of ours, a witness brother in my former hall died.

i guess my basic goal here is to express to others and hopefully get more support in my efforts to tear down the two worst and most inaccurate books the society has published.
those being: life: how did it get here?
and the bible - god's word or man's?
Hold on!
I will have to ask Sooty. He always knows what to say and I believe in him and have put my faith in him.
He has never let me down and never will.
I will be offended if anyone is critical of my belief system.
i offer you a few recent musings, to consider.
i'm not trying to make statements of facts or argue for a set of beliefs, or anything of the sort.
i guess i'd just really like to discuss the subject of the mind without getting entrenched positions on the various subjects surrounding it.
LittleToe - this is an interesting thread and touches on a vast subject.
Some people try to divide the mind neatly into just two parts - the conscious and the unconscious or sub-conscious. In truth, the mind is not that simple and has many levels of consciousness.
All our thoughts and memories are stored in our unconscious mind and become conscious as required. Sometimes though, thoughts of which we have been conscious can disappear into the unconscious mind and we can find that though we are aware that we know of something we cannot cause it to surface again into our consciousness.
We have many thousands of memories and feelings within us, but they can only present themselves one at a time. If two feelings compete for our attention, confusion results. Our conscious mind is like an attendant keeping order. The values we have consciously accepted are stored as beliefs in our unconscious which will communicate to us through feeling.
If we try to go against our beliefs or the value system our unconscious has accepted, we suffer from anxiety and worry that something is wrong. If we have accepted a belief system that is faulty our unconscious will still cause us anxiety, if it is challenged by us or others.
A skilled Hypnotherapist can help us to make the changes that we desire to at an emotional level by helping to reprogram the computer of our mind. There are also ways that we can make these changes ourselves.
The above is not googled but are my own words taken from my own notes.

Crumpet
I am sorry to hear that you are having problems. You have mentioned before that there were problems in your relationship. Sometimes a complete break and little time alone can help to make sense of things.
Have a good time and avoid depressive thoughts.

think about it.... if it wasn't for the fact that most of us are/were dubs...we wouldn't even notice their existence.. i used to say that when i was a dub (to the scorn of all)...when they would talk about the wt & aw being the most widely "read" (they took liberty with the word "distributed") mags on earth bullsh*t!.
except for my visiting jwd... there is almost no evidence of the existence of the dubs in my life...they are a non-issue!.
they are a lot of drama bout nuthin...really...if you'll step back and notice.... agree or disagree?.
I agree upside/down.
They are just an unnoticed boil on the backside of humanity noticed only by those who have been to bed with them - metaphorically speaking!
there is and always was a lot of suffering in the world since the beginning of history, so who is to blame?
is it a god that doesn't care or a mankind that refuses to be reconciled with god and through that find salvation?
I don’t blame a god or mankind for suffering. There is also a lot of beauty and joy in life. I simply accept that we are part of something awesome and what we do affects the way life on earth develops.
There is nothing to suggest that there is a pre-planned purpose or template that life is working to arrive at. IT simply IS. It seems that the life force that inhabits us moves on at death and continues with the adventure. That is not to say that we individually survive. For our short term on earth it dwells in us, then moves on and expresses itself through other people or some other form of life.
A study of the natural world will show that it makes no judgement and does not attempt to rule or punish. It is impartial and has only one - aim to manifest and pervade. We can see this force and intelligence at work in all living things, which are a vehicle for its expression. If the vehicle is damaged the life force leaves.
An acceptance of the possibility that we are all connected and the expression of an impartial, infinite life force is not the same as subscribing to a particular religion with the hope of reward, or believing in a judgemental God with human qualities.
Believing we are collectively responsible for our world and not expecting to be blessed, helped or punished by a distant God, depending on whether we have chosen the correct religion, would be a huge step forward.
asked the elder conducting my book study today...he didn't know.
how about a little help here old buddy.. if no...then why continue to "preach the good news" to convince them to repent?
that would be a waste of time.. if yes?....who would he not forgive?.
The Devil has never been baptized, so he can start a bible study and join god's organization at any time.
Once on board he would be counted among the 'millions now living who will never die.'
Hope this helps.

People come here to show off and get attention.
I have failed on both counts but stay because the forum is addictive and I am a weak man blow around on life's highway by the ill winds of apostasy.
Gird up your loins and go where thou wilt but tread carefully for the Devil is a roaring lion seeking to devour the unwary.
is christ jehovah god?.
is christ jehovah god?
jehovah from jehovah?
RevFrank asks:
Is Christ Jehovah God?
One would think that after two thousand years of Christ revealing himself to people and Christians having personal relationships with ‘The Christ,’ there would not be the slightest doubt about this question but the song lingers on…………….
I think that we are perhaps dealing with a schitsophrenic personality, which could explain some of the vile deeds carried out by this - Jehovah/Christ/Jesus/Son of man/Lord/God/Saviour/King character?
the watchtower society has mishandled rules of greek grammar and has manipulated the wording of numerous biblical passages that reveal the deity of christ.
john 1:10 - "...the world came into existence through him..." .
colossians 1:16 - "...all things have been created through him..." .
Christianity isn't a religion
RevFrank demonstrates that honesty in not required only faith!
