A man, who I suspect is familiar with this site comes to me. He asks: Do you really believe that the Bible is the best guide in life? I answer: I do believe it is book from God but there are things I do not understand.

Then we have half an hour long conversation on the law etc. It was interesting. And then he asks me to explain the generation and , particularly, what overlapping is. I answer that I can't explain as it is something I don't comprehend myself. The man shakes my hand, says that he understands and respects my point. And he leaves.

True story. A pioneer couple herd the conversation and commented that it was the best to say as it is not possible to explain overlapping generation with the Bible. They have been in many different fulltime activities for 3 decades.

I think GB knows that what they expressed is very common attitude amongst R&F

the 2014 - 2015 jw statistics showed a peak publisher decline of 884 with the average publisher tally showing a gain of 183. .

the 2017 yearbook is now available via jw.org and the statistics for britain show a 2016 peak publisher increase of 630 and an average publisher increase of a paltry 26!.

nothing to shout about on the part of the followers of caiaphas in the britain branch.

Few years ago a co who is in Bethel now told me that almost all growth in the UK Is because of immigrants, mainly from Poland.

My experience is: Brits don't go to ministry on evenings when people are in. Saturday mornings are mostly not at homes and only an hour. And then coffee stop. No wonder no new converts, youths bored and all discouraged.

Immigrants are far more industrious . I keep seeing polish and Slovak jaws in my area at nigh time doing d2d. They preach as they work - hard. I apologise Brits but they have more power. Besides, they as newcomers create sort of support groups.. and they need it.

I am just thinking. The gb must know ( don't they) that overlapping generation idea doesn't agree with many r&f. They must feel that 1914 can be another failure as 1975 etc. You can't drag the last days indefinitely. And they want to secure future existence of their business to help it survive coming collapse.

It will be sharp decline in followers because of it. And now my theory. They pile up the cash to survive years of decline. It is not about payments for molesters victims but they are preparing for drastic change of teachings and drop in members. What do you think?

Has there ever been a time when someone has been outed as a JW mole on this forum?

having been a jw for decades i'm used to watching what i do, say, or watch, in fear of being snitched on.. therefore, i the question begs.. there have been instances, i won't say how, where i've felt some members are being deliberate in their attempt to feign support for the anti-jw rhetoric on this forum.. any input is greatly appreciated..

Elders daughter living with her JW gay partner for over a decade and because her dad was good pal of congs coordinator no actions whatsoever :) an elder who objected the plot was removed and his name and his family taken through mud. It made me to step down from the privilege and opened my eyes. Besides CO was not even bothered to get involved. People who were in power in that cong had money ;) so.. Well..

I am still in because of family. I have read CoC, Hawkins and Dowkins, and many blasphemous Watchtower books from beginning of XX century. I turned down an offer to be appointed elder although I do things for people in my cong.
