for all who have, are, or will be shunned (which should pretty much be all of us), do you still have a deep love for those who now shun you...now, not familial love, but an active love that yearns for that person's companionship?.
i have several regrets; one of them is the friends that i've lost.
how about you guys?.
Thankfully, I have no family in the Borg. Most of the friends (?) were not very loving to start with. My DA'ng meant my best friend(?) of 26 years no longer speaks to me, however. Do I miss her? Not as she is now. Her mind is so bent. Would I renew our friendship if she left the Borg? Yes. But that's not reality. It's no use feeling like I have to "do" something about getting her out. She won't listen because she is so absolutely controlled by their propaganda. Anything I would say she would take as fulfilled prophecy because that is what the Borg has told her to think. I feel sorry for her. I dislike the Borg intensely and pray for its demise. Angry? You bet but I'm not letting it eat me up like I did in the beginning. I'm very happy to be free of the Borg. I'm getting on with my life and making new friends. ((()))

i want to send lots of christmas greetings cards this year.
i especially want to send a card to dozens of posters from this site.
i suppose the obvious answer is that folks email me with an address.
WOW...this is great. This is my first Christmas out. Would love to do cards. Will be posting on Rhett's site (thanks, Rhett... ). In the meantime, here's my E-mail: [email protected].

i'm in a quandry.. came out of the organisation a few years ago, have spend a couple of chilled out christmasses in front of the fire.
no presents, decorations etc, no problem!
but... my little boy is getting older and my ex-husband (my son's father and also an ex-jw) is concerned that he will miss out, just like we did as kids.. but, i am reluctant to do the whole christmas thing.
Missie:
Forget the Dub teachings and jump in with both feet! Personally, I'm thrilled to be able to celebrate the birth of Christ again. The Dubs tried to destroy that for me but they failed in the long run. Sure it's commercial but who cares. Christmas is really about expressing joy, love, happiness, and appreciation for the love God showed us by giving us his Son. It's a time to be cheerful and bring happiness to those you love. Cook, bake, decorate with the kids, shop, drink eggnog, send Christmas greetings to your friends (to heck with Anthrax)....have a great time with friends and family...even make new friends.
This is my first Christmas in 11 years and I'm having fun shopping for a tree and decorations, buying cards, singing along with the carols in the stores, planning what food I'm going to bake for the office Christmas party (I never went in the past), going to church on Christmas Eve, and touring the Christmas light show at Tradewinds Park this year. We have a huge Christmas Boat Parade on the Intercoastal Waterway every year. I sure would like to see it. My neighbor usually puts on a small neighborly get together every year. Maybe I'll go and help her this year.
God...I missed Christmas! I just love the FREEDOM of celebrating it again and being able to wish people a Merry Christmas instead of saying "Thank you for the thought but I don't celebrate it". UGH!
Can't wait. I'm just a bundle of Happy Ho-Ho's. (((()))

witness parents wring their hands, cry in their pillows and mumble.
remarks about satan's influence "in these last days.".
they are told that the world is getting worse and worse.. they are told that temptations are no different than they've ever been.. wrong!

Michael3000: I wouldn't touch Fred Hall with a 10' pole tonight; Tonight's HIS night. Too big and bad for me. Later? Maybe.
Saint Satan: A girl at work gave me the following that she found on a web site when she lost her pet. This one's for you, too.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when the big cat suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers; the purring is loud. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thanks Mike, Lilacs, Cygnus, Ranchette, outnfree, think41self, crittersitter, and Lionel...I knew I could count on you all to make me feel better. It's too early for me to think about replacing him. I just don't know at this point but I'll be in touch with Lilacs or crittersitter if I want to replace him. Crittersitter...that sounds like a really great business.
Love to you all, Trot
P.S. Thanks to you too, Jayhawk. Your post crossed with my reply.

There is this great big hole in my heart. I had to put my "Bingo" down today. I raised him from a kitten 16-1/2 yrs ago. He's been my one and only pet and only child. I don't have a picture to give you all but he was a very handsome big, big (21 lbs.) black cat with beautiful light green eyes and smooth as silk fur and the sweetest face I've ever seen on a kitty.
He started acting poorly last Wed. He stopped eating Friday and went downhill steadily. I raced him to the vets. Diagnosis: canker sores in his mouth. Home again. I had to force feed the poor little guy with a syringe because he absolutely refused to eat. He got worse and I could tell he was dying. Yesterday morning, he tried to stand up and made a valiant effort to get to his water bowl but couldn't. Raced to the vets again. They put him on fluids and took blood. He began to have seizures. This morning his blood tests came back with almost complete kidney shut down. I had to let him go. There was no hope.
I miss my little fur face so much and my heart is breaking. I want him back so much. All I have left are his toys and memories and that's what hurts so much. He was a wonderful companion but I wonder if this hurt was worth it.
Today, Trot, is not happy.

there are some really weird and interesting names on this site.
just out of interest, lets swap details of how we selected our chosen "stage name", it could be fun!.
i chose "englishman" when i first started to lurk at h20.
(OMG...Preston, do you really look like that? That'll work!)
I chose "Trotafox" because I used to teach ballroom dancing. At our parties, when we asked a gentleman to dance, we sometimes said "Would you like to trotafox" instead of "Would you like to fox trot". (((())) Corny, I know. But they liked it.
