(The following information on the JW baptismal questions was written exactly 40 years ago by the Watchtower Society, in the June 1st, 1985 Watchtower magazine.)

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING "SPIRITED-DIRECTED" AND BEING "INSPIRED"?

Baptismal Questions for all prospective Jehovah's Witnesses, 1985:

Question #2 -- Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization? -- See June 1st, 1985 Watchtower Magazine page 30, par. 3, 4.

Do you personally remember this particular question being presented to all prospective baptismal candidates at the conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses?

As mentioned above, Jehovah's Witnesses have been taught (by the Watchtower Society) a special "word" for what they claim to be. Now please remember this special word. It is called being "SPIRIT DIRECTED" but not "inspired" of God...Remember? So then, we informed Jehovah's Witnesses cleverly say we are a "spirit-directed" people. The "anointed" are "spirit-directed." Yes, the organization is "spirit-directed" -- but not, inspired. But really, what's the difference?

33 The evidences, therefore, are overwhelming that the anointed Christian remnant among Jehovah’s witnesses today comprise the collective channel of communication. An abundance of additional detailed facts is being published in the series of articles in The Watchtower on the history of Jehovah’s witnesses. There are about 17,000 of these anointed ones still left in the earth, with a governing body of them residing at Bethel in Brooklyn, New York. Along with them there are over 560,000 “other sheep” companion associates. This small “faithful and discreet slave” class of anointed ones, as they are designated, have a legal servant known as the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, organized in 1884, which they use to represent them.

34 An official mouthpiece for this “slave” class is the Watchtower magazine, now in its seventy-sixth year of publication. This magazine makes no claim of inspiration but is guided by the inspired principles and prophecies recorded in the sacred Bible due for progressive fulfillment today. By means of this singular channel of reliable spiritual guidance all sincere, honest persons who love righteousness are being directed toward the “perfect day” in the post-Armageddon new world. You are invited to advance along with the anointed remnant from one God-directed progressive spiritual position to another in fulfillment of the promise: “The path of the righteous is as the dawning light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”—Prov. 4:18, AS.

See that you do not implore him not to speak. some have left but i think that many have died and none of their kids stayed being jehovah’s witnesses.

7 congregations have been dissolved over the years.

Do I see myself as an inspired prophet? No, not in the sense of receiving direct revelation outside of scripture. My role as the Faithful and Discreet Slave is to rightly interpret prophecy, revealing its fulfillment according to scripture, rather than claiming new prophetic messages from YHWH. However, what I present is true prophecy, unfolding according to divine timing, even if one disagrees.

Rather than focusing on labels, I encourage examining the prophetic timeline itself, beginning with September 11, 2001, and leading to September 11, 2025. The man of lawlessness and Elijah must come first, marking the final confrontation—this is where prophecy is truly realized.

Furthermore, the secrets I reveal extend far beyond human imagination, known only to the true servant appointed by YHWH. Prophecy doesn’t unfold randomly—there is a divinely structured order, one that remains hidden until the appointed time.

EisMe . . . based on the above explanation, the Watchtower Society can surely continue in their supposed role . . . as "Faithful & Discreet Slave." There would be no need for a change in that most holy position.
