Not to be technical, but isn't that the reason why Kentucky Fried Chicken had to change their name to KFC? Aren't the animals they use no longer actually chickens, but actually animals that resemble chickens minus a number of organs? If I'm not mistaken, they were forced to change the name because the animals are actually not chickens. Just a thought, correct me if I'm wrong...

Sox, Cubs......I Believe
by rocketman ini believe in curses.
the billygoat.
the bambino.. the sox just lost to the yankees 6-5 after leading by three in the 8th.. we all know what happened to the cubs.. and i believe in the rally monkey too, from last year's angels (though i guess he's looking for work these days, poor little fella).. this is all in kidding, but it does make me wonder.....are some teams "cursed"?

Jesus did recognize and use God's name.....but, it wasn't jehovah
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inthat's right - like so many scriptural verses which have been corrupted by translation and interpretation over the centuries, so too has the defining scripture where jesus clearly identified gods name.
of course, that verse is the so called model prayer, and contrary to the beliefs of many it does highlight god's name.. as jesus said -"let us pray then this way - our father who art in heaven, harold be thy name....... so once again, the witnesses have got it wrong.
they should refer to themselves as harold's witnesses, and they should be doing harry's will.

This happens more often than one thinks...for instance, Jimi Hendrix had a little song entitled "Purple Haze" in which he sang what many think is "Excuse me while I kiss the sky." He actually said "Excuse me while I kiss this guy."

Kingdom Hall Spankings
by JH inmost meetings i went to, children were brought to the washrooms in the back to be disciplined.
often i could hear a child yell or cry due to the spanking given by the parent.
people in the hall would have that look on their face meaning that it was alright to discipline a child by spanking him.

I guess I'm in the minority on this one. I was spanked when I was little, not understanding why I had to sit still. And even though I've had to readjust my attitude and be careful as to the reasons why I had to spank my own kids, I'm glad my parents spanked me. We've been over this topic here before, and I still believe that a two-year-old will only understand a stinging bottom. But sometimes witness parents justify this too much and take great pride while beating the living hell out of their kids while at the hall. It's as if they're trying to prove that they take the meetings more serious than others. (not that one should) There's too many extremes. Everything in moderation I say. Take them home, spank them a few times, give them a hug and a kiss, and put them to bed. Witness parents somehow find a way to make things more difficult in the long run.

Have You Spoken To Anyone Here From This Forum ?
by RAYZORBLADE inobviously the answer for many of you is, an overwhelming yes.
the reason i am posting this is, for some or perhaps many, they only post or im(instant message/e-mail) other members, but have not spoken to them via the phone.
i'm aware that for some, calling long distance is a financial concern, thus the e-mail thing/im works fine and serves its purpose.
