Please, I am so upset...I need some hugs...
by Sentinel ini am having a very difficult time and i am here right now because i know in my heart, that when i explain what has just happened to me a few minutes ago, you will understand.
many of you are no doubt going through the same thing.. within several posts here, i have spoken of my mother.
my dear sweet mother, who just turned 78, and who has been a faithful jw since 1959. she abandoned me in 1981, when i decided to leave the borg, and for twelve years she did not speak to me, write to me, call me, or visit me.

by termite 35 inglad you had a good time-i did the lands end to john o,groats trip on a bike years ago, when i was young!.
it was a good experience but the weather in the lake district was awful and i got soaked from then on until i hit john o' groats- then, the clouds skudded away and the whole area was bathed in the brightest light i've ever seen-i could have happily stayed there and never gone back!.
how's your bum??!

Thanks everybody,
Yes I lost all my pics,I wasnt very impressed either, the air did turn blue when I discovered that.
The area I covered was,the lake district, pennines, yorkshire and of course bonnie Scotland,I didnt get wet on the outside at all so I had to make up on the inside,in the spirit of diplomatic relations of course,as termite quite rightly said.
Thanks for the welcome back.
take care,
Rich.
I did wonder about trying to look some of you up,but I was a bit late getting organised, next time maybe.

Hey Termite,Im honered,thanks.
Well Im still a biy saddle sore,my shoulders and neck ache, but it was great fun,I would do it again tomorrow,I met some good people, and wobbled my way out of a few hostelries,in fact I have a t shirt signed by all the locals of one pub,as somebody put it,its not very often we get somebody with a funny accent in here',I wasnt too sure how to take that, but it was fun.
I did try paddeling in loch Ness,it was freezing, and nessie totally ignored me,so I carried on.
Ive got some good memories, which is just as well,as the back of my camera came open and I lost all my pics!.
Take care,
Rich.

Music To Die By....
by hillary_step ini am told by those stupid enough to be called my friends, that i think about death far too often for comfort.
this blemish on an otherwise perfect character is probably a gift of nationality as many of my comrades seem to spend whole days toasting seats in corner cafes, lethargically discussing the latest obituary and predicting the size and quality of the tombstone.
whenever i visit the mountainous village of my birth, it strikes me that i have seen these same people drinking campari in these same bars for almost four decades.

That song was in the film Midnight Cowboy many years ago.
Now my preferred funeral arrangements would to be shoved out of an airoplane,in a steel coffin, aimed at the houses of parliment accompanied by the Ride of the Valkeries.
That would make them think!.

Should we care about "lurkers"?
by expatbrit inive noticed some discussion on the question of whether we should be concerned about moderating our behaviour because of what lurking jws will think.
should we be concerned about scaring off jws who may be starting to question the wt, or should anything go because if they can't deal with the real world it's not our problem and we should be ourselves?.
the following are some of my thoughts.

I hope this is in context with this threads title,I will call my humble comments to swear or not to swear.
I have what I call my works lingo and my out of works lingo.I can eff and blind as well as anybody and frequently do in my working environment, its male dominated,(Trucking)and is considered to be perfectly acceptable. Its the works lingo.
My out of works lingo, the place where a person is at home, with friends, being oneself, has very little time for effing this and effing that,it is very rare to hear me swear in my own time so to speak, and I dont like to hear it from others, particularly if it is written.
If I am standing next to a person who is using the f word,I have the choice to tell them to pipe down,if it is written I dont, its there in my face and I have no choice and I dont like it.I dont like to hear women using the f word and I wont use it in front of a women, old fashioned?,nah,I just see no need for it.
