Sounds just like them. They're always using scriptures whenever they are to their benefit even if it contradicts another issue they were trying to prove. Too bad I can't get my mother and sister to see this. They dragged my 80 year father who just "conformed" about 3 years ago out in the blizzard cold in Michigan because he had to get his time in. No scriptual basis for that. We are to tell others about our faith in Christ but not in the friggin' blizzard cold, where it's 9 below!

WT Contradiction - Are the other sheep sons of God?
by artful inmany are familiar with the countless flip flops and contradictions that can be found in the wt publications of the past (for numerous examples of this see http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com).
however, in reading through the jan 15 and feb 15 wt study articles i believe i have found a "modern day" example of a wts contradictory statement.
it pertains to the status of the "other sheep" as sons of god.. __________.

1975---- DID IT REALLY BOTHER YOU?

obviously, some left the organization when nothing happened in 1975. were you personally affected by 1975?
has the fixing of dates been a major reason for your disappointment with the witnesses?

They did preach it. I was 10 in 1975 and was always lead to believe I would never see old age (35 in 2000) or I would never be old enough to marry, etc. I was told we could not go to college. I know it was taught, I know I did not imagine it. They can say it all they want and lie all they want but I know the truth. Now, after the 1995 incident (the generation doctrine change), I am more determined not to be lied to and not to have the rest of my family lied to. I refuse to go to the meetings only because if I know the real "truth" why would I want to attend meetings and gag at the lies? My mother holds on to "it" (their doctrines, I mean she is a staunch JW) but guess what, right now, at this time precisely, she is covering for my 51 year old brother who is wanted by the authorities for not signing all the documents and keeping a new car he just purchased 4 months ago. He owes them $12,000, walked out of the bank, did not complete the paperwork and now the bank wants the car back. My mother has been hiding him in her basement. So, the question? What happened to her "Christianity"?
P.S. If a doctrine has been changed, was it ever the truth when they taught it to be the truth?

It's "funny" how I asked my sister and Mother who are regular, brain-washed witnesses, if they got the article I e-mailed to my sister about the "Four Witnesses". And, their reaction?? Are you ready? Get this: Their reaction was, yeah, we saw it, just enough to make us mad. Can you guess at what they were mad at? THEY WERE NOT MAD AT THE MOLESTIONS THAT OCCURRED!!!!! THEY WERE MAD THAT THE WITNESSES WERE PORTRAYED IN A BAD LIGHT!!!! I had to change the subject before I blew my top and hung the phone with her to cool off. I will discuss it with them when I do.

Just got a visit from elders

i peek out the window and see 2 elders walking up to the door.
since i'm still in my jammies, i told my husband to go get the door while i snuck into the bedroom.

I grew up in the "truth" and about eight months ago, I stopped going except on Sundays every now and then. Now, I don't go at all. But, if ever I went to a book study, and I mean out of the blue I would go, the book study conductor would give me a Kingdom Ministry.

Tape record Oct. 7 meeting
by comment incould anyone who is attending the special meeting on october 7 arrange to tape record it?.
it would probably not be that hard to bring in one of those mini-cassette recorders and at least capture part of what is said.. i am sure others who are unable to attend the meeting would be interested in hearing a recording.
and if it turns out to be a "historic occasion," it would be nice for the world to have a document of it.. comment

Yeah, it's also funny how my mother who never calls me because it's long distance, has called me 4 times in the last week regarding this NGO thing all because last week I asked her if she thought it was right or wrong. (She basically feels the same as my sister, that there's nothing wrong with giving out information about the UN or them being an NGO). Then she had the nerve to tell me because I was telling her this information and saying I did not think it was right, that I was sinning against the holy spirit (basically for talking against the Society); then she told me to just "give it up" and stop nit-picking. Well, from now on I will leave it up to Jehovah to reveal these things to her and my sister, the real truth.
