  there's a lot of talk right now about how stupid it is to have jws hand out leaflets with urls on them.

  "why go to someone's door to tell them they can visit a web site that lets them ask for someone to come to their door?

  " well, i'm sorry, but i have to weigh in with a contrary opinion here on how clever the society is.

  up to 13 new songs will be released over time to equal a revised new song book and changes to songs in place due to the new bible.

  the revised song book cover will look like the new bible.

  new songs will be practiced at the service meeting.

  It sure sounds like a shift away from 1914. They have to do it slowly and distance themselves from the doctrine so the rank and file can say "Yeah well that's what I believed anyway so it must be the truf"

  i cannot wrap my mind around the fact that there is jw tv.

  being a born in and living most of my life hearing how tv evangelism is wrong and lazy preaching yet seeing this unfold solidifies this religion as a cult!.

  i remember back when i began my fade a few years ago i told my brother during an argument how this religion is just like any other religion in that its bull.

  Watchtower sitting on potential goldmine of millions of non-JW memorial attenders

  last year's "letter from the governing body" (on jw.org) notes:.

  "last year, the memorial attendance was 19,241,252. how encouraging to see so many honor jehovah and jesus christ by attending the most important meeting of the year for gods people!".

  that's about 12 million or so non-jw's who go to the memorial only, a good % of whom are evidently at least somewhat sympathetic or curious about the jw's, but for various reasons have no desire to commit to the religion.. .

  Yes it is mostly family members that fell away and are guilted into coming or never baptized and guilted into coming.

  it's usually those who are already familiar with the Jdubs one way or another.

  The first memorial after I phased i met a witness on the street. She said see you tonight. I looked at her puzzled ( on purpose). At the memorial she said. I just raised my eyebrows.

  They just asume the the inactive will come to their most important farce.

  Looks like a lot of kids with uniforms on. Probable a bus stop for school kids and the moms meet their kids there.

  The Jehovah's Witness religion has gone for good !!!

  i am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.

  the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.

  different teachings on when the end is coming.

  Preaching on the Internet has been happening regardless of council against.

  Seems they want everyone to direct them to JW.org and now likely the TV site.

  p.s. I wonder if the WT is pushing iPads so much because it makes posting on

  jehovah's-witness.net a pain in the arse.
