Steve Clarke was D.O. up in Scotland when I left. He was pals with the C.O. Tony Cain from Manchester.
Steve always reminded me of Mark Gatiss (the butcher) from the League of Gentlemen.
can anyone compile a list of as many as possible past and present co/do's from the uk?

today a main point in the wt was a guess game.. the study elder asked: .
what's wrong on the picture?.
before i share the local conclusions here, i would like to hear the comments made in your congregation 😎.
I see one thing wrong - that hall was built by volunteers with free labour but will later be sold by a cult masquerading as a religion for massive profit.
all exhibits for case study 54, jehovah's witnesses and watchtower, have been released by the arc.. http://www.childabuseroyalcommission.gov.au/exhibits/10908a67-70c5-4103-94cc-dac096fdb585/case-study-54,-march-2017,-sydney.

slimboyfat - you allude to the April 10th 2012 letter to elders that made a distinction between regular porn and "abhorrent" pornography:
He may continue to serve if his involvement consisted of (1) a few brief viewings, (2) he displays a heartfelt desire to desist from looking at pornography in any form, (3) the elders are convinced that he will refrain from viewing pornography, (4) he continues to retain the respect of others who are aware of what he did, and (5) his conscience allows him to do so.
...
An entrenched practice of viewing, perhaps over a considerable period of time, abhorrent forms of pornography that is sexually degrading. Such pornography may include homosexuality (sex between those of the same gender), group sex, bestiality, sadistic torture, bondage, gang rape, the brutalizing of women, or child pornography. Brazen conduct would be involved if the offender was promoting such material, such as by inviting others to view it, thus giving evidence of a brazen attitude. — w12 3/15 pp. 30-31; w06 7/15 p. 31.
...
Thererefore, viewing pornography escalates to gross uncleanness if the type of pornography viewed was abhorrent or sexually degrading in nature, as described in the second example above. An additional factor to be considered would be if it were a practice for "many years." As a general principle, when these elements are present, a judicial committee would need to handle the matter. At Ephesians 4:19 Paul stated: "Having come to be past all moral sense, they gave themselves over to loose conduct to work uncleanness of every sort with greediness." (Gal. 5: 19; w83 3/15 p. 31 par. 3) When an individual has 'given himself over' to this unclean practice as evidenced by his repeatedly viewing abhorrent pornography, the matter has escalated to gross uncleanness and needs to be handled judicially. — w06 711 5 pp. 29-3 1.
once again, the arc has brilliantly highlighted the reality that any witness who either fades or disassociates is subjected to active official shunning by the organization.. the "brothers" tried to state that it was the choice of the indiviual who steps away from the organization to shun them!
they actually tried to make it out to be the fault of the one who leaves!
then they tried to say that those who fade are not shunned!.
Video summary of the bits on shunning here:
new letter today (please visit avoidjw.org for a copy of the official letter and yes, i also noticed they got the date wrong!).
february 28, 2017. to all bodies of elders.
re: visiting disfellowshipped or disassociated individuals.
this is the main effect of the JW carts
It may be the intended effect, but it's a really pathetic replacement for elder visits if they really were sincere on getting people back.
day two (wednesday 8 february 2017).

jefferson: not totally.. zeff: okay.
And are they anonymous? They are.

HOW IS THAT ANONYMOUS?!?!
i have made a spreadsheet of the reported number in attendance to the memorial since the first report of 13 people appeared in an 1896 watchtower.. since it can be very hard to find the numbers for the early years (anything previous to 1938), i will slowly make a note of where i found the data.some of the years i had to manually add hundreds of entries, since the wt did not provide the full number.i am building on the statistics of 1988-2013 that appeared here a while ago.soon i will be starting this but for other sets of data: # of publishers, hours, etc...here is the link: link.
After doing 35 years worth, the novelty is starting to wear off a bit to be honest. It gets progressively more difficult the further I go back with all the country changes and just the general quality of the scans causing problems with the OCR software which I have to correct manually.
I was planning to take a break from it for a while, so by all means go ahead if you have the time.
hello again folks - as promised in my last thread here, i've been working on turning yearbook statistics into excel spreadsheets.. coincidentally, today is my 25th birthday (spare a thought for a fader).. i've now updated the spreadsheet with yearbook data all the way back to 1988 (the year i was born), therefore it now contains 25 years of statistics.. there were a lot of countries changing around and for some it was possible to create a continuation of data.
some are a simple change of name like south-west africa to namibia.
others, for example - in 1993 with czechoslovakia splitting into two countries (czech republic and slovakia) i have added an extra row that provides a continuation of the data, combining czech republic and slovakia back together as if they were still one country.
Now updated with the latest 2016 data, and also going further back to 1981:
Yearbook Stats by Field 1981-2016.xls
Feel free to message me if you find any errors.

it look very possible that the borg could lose their charity status in both the uk and oz if this happens the jw will not have all the tax breaks for the buildings that they have now.and that the headquarters will have to start finding extra money.and as they have done so much cost cutting anyway these past years i think they will have to start selling kingdom halls off.
.
matsukov - that's also how I understand it is in the UK. The Charity Commission can use it's remit as long as WTBTS are a charity. But if they lose that status then WTBTS can do whatever it wants untrammeled, so better to keep them a charity.
Losing charity status also means the accounts would no longer be public, which gives us a bit of insight for the moment on their financial health somewhat, and how much they are siphoning to US head office.
Having publicly appointed trustees might have quite an impact on them though. Could they stop siphoning funds and also spending on building projects until there is suitable reform?
