I wonder why the courts overlooked the fact that for a very long time the Watchtower said they don't have any clergy in their publications.

The congregation I attended when I was a single JW sister, didn't have any single brothers, but there were several females. But when it became known there were several of age single females there were a few and I called them creepers come looking for a wife. None of my friends fell for them, fortunately. But before it was over most of us did eventually get married.
The first one of use to get married got married to the wrong man, they were divorced within less than 7 years.
The second one to get married met a brother originally from California who had temporarily transferred (work reason) to Kansas City Missouri. About a year after they were married they ended up moving back to where he was originally from.
The third one married a younger brother from the same congregation. He was about 3 years younger.. I believe that he wanted to marry someone like his mother because her personality and style of dress was just like his mother.
I was the next one to get married to my husband. We met at a kingdom hall build. He was from another state as well. I didn't know it at the time but he was a PIMO, but we had quite a lot in common. Our parents both became a JW to survive the big A in 1975 for starters.
This happened after I had moved away but another sister just couldn't find the right brother, and she ended up getting disfellowshipped twice for dating "worldly" men. When I last heard she had been married twice, and both times she married total dead beats who left her and their children without any support. She had to move back home until she could figure out what to do.
There were several others but I can't tell you what happened to them. As far as actual dating, there really wasn't. We all got married to the first guy we were "dating".

147th Gilead prt. 3 - this could stumble people
by neat blue dog induring gerrit loesch's talk just released, he goes on a long list of the false end times predictions throughout the millennia.
i didn't expect it, but then he goes into the precursors to the bible students who, when their dates failed, changed christ's presence to have happened 'invisibly'.
then it goes right into the jws, and he reads the quote from millions now living will never die about how we can 'confidently expect' the resurrection in 1925, and then the life everlasting book that predicted 1975. of course, he doesn't say how it's still going on, namely with the overlapping generation and its' accompanying convoluted chart, but still, this is more than they've ever said on the subject, especially recently.. it almost sounds like a forced statement, to address any backlash from people reading 'apostate lies' online, because he also says how the gb 'humbly' admitted mistakes, referencing the non-apology after 1975 that disturbed raymond franz.

It doesn't surprise me because when I left a couple of elders came by my door to double-check and asked me why. I knew that I had to keep it brief because they wouldn't listen if it were very long. The one thing I brought up was the scripture in Deuteronomy about false prophets and 1975. I know that I was not the only one who brought this up to them. But when it comes to the majority of the rank and file, the GB knows that that won't phase them any, it didn't with my mother, who became a JW because of that lie.

Roundabouts really drive me a bit batty, but I'm slowly getting used to those things. My first encounter with one was about 5 years back, but it was not one that I drove on very often (Arkansas). Then I went to visit a relative in Missouri and really got confused, they had added one after we have moved away. Now they added another not far from where I currently live. My husband keeps hitting the curve on that one. lol

@Freedom Rocks, there is a man who has a Youtube channel who left the JWs, and in some of his videos, he talks about what he did to help his own children and the indoctrination that they had. His children are/were still fairly young. Here is one of his videos, but there are a few others where he talks about his own children. He might have some ideas for you.

Exactly where I am living, Northwest Arkansas, United States. For the most part we have fairly mild winters, and hardly any snow.
