I just thought of something else, "How would I react if a snake started talking to me?" My thoughts would be, "Who spiked my drink?" lol

How Would You React if a Snake Started Talking to You?
by RubaDub injust an odd thought i guess.
i saw a large snake in the back of my house the other day and it went on its merry way.
i just asked myself, what if the snake turned around and wanted to have a philosophical discussion on life, the universe or the origin of creation and then began to ask me questions?

Before I had left I was researching through some of the old Watchtower literature, at the time I still had hard copies of books dated back to the 1960s. My very much PIMI brother inlaw said I was a stupid woman and an apostate. This did not sit very well with my husband, and he replied back to his brother, well then the Watchtower must also be an apostate because it is their books. So that also makes you an apostate by association with the Watchtower.

Will You Constantly Wear A Mask?
by minimus intoday, it will be 90 degrees and humid!
this morning i’ll be playing tennis again.
while most people have been holed up in their houses, i have regularly played the sport outside.

So far I haven't worn a mask, but I haven't gone anywhere there were many other folks. The only place I plan on wearing a mask is if I have to wear one to do business with them. After a two month layoff, my husband went back to work, he has to wear a mask for his job. His plant doesn't have air conditioning, and it is hot and muggy.

Looking for suggestions, I'm being called on by a JW
by Tameria2001 injust before the pandemic affected my area, a couple of jws came to my door.
this was the first time i didn't tell them to hit the road but instead had a pleasant conversation with them.
i never revealed that i am a former jw, nor do i ever want the jws in my area to know that i was ever one.

Just before the Pandemic affected my area, a couple of JWs came to my door. This was the first time I didn't tell them to hit the road but instead had a pleasant conversation with them. I never revealed that I am a former JW, nor do I ever want the JWs in my area to know that I was ever one. I moved here just to get away from the ones that I did know.
I just received a second letter, part of this letter says,
Last time I wrote, I mentioned that we see the signs of change on the horizon. I'm sure you're familiar with the Lord's Prayer, where Jesus said to pray for God's Kingdom to come. The result will be that God's Will will take place on earth. Under that kingdom, all of the problems that face the human race today will be eliminated. Even death will be a thing of the past. An enormous number of people will be resurrected with the possibility of never dying again. "Death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." (Rev 21:4) Life at that time will be pure joy. It's beautiful to anticipate.
I already know how things are going to be after this pandemic, those who survive this will still be going to work, and paying their taxes. With a few small changes, life will generally remain unchanged, meaning no new system like the JWs is anticipating.
Without giving myself away as a former JW what are a few things I can say to her? I was thinking about mentioning the pandemic of the early 1900s (Spanish Flu). The total slaughter of people during the 1930s and 1940s; Germany and the Jews and others they consider undesirables, Japan and the Chinese people, Russia and their own citizens, just to name a few.
What I am hoping to accomplish would be to say something to her, so that when things calm down, and life goes back to normal hopefully it will be something that comes to her mind. The whole "planting the seed" bit.

Why Do You Think People Become Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inbesides growing up in the religion, why do you think people turn to jehovah’s witnesses?
.
what made you become a witness?

I can tell you why my mother became a JW. My older sister had died, she was 5 and a half years of age. Before this time my mother detested the JWs and even stopped her brother from becoming one. When my sister had died, my mother's cousin, who was a JW, somehow convinced her that in the fall of 1975 that she would be reunited with her daughter, but she would have to be a baptized dedicated servant of Jehovah. She fell for the lie hook, line, and sinker, and refuses to ever walk away, even if she learned it was all a lie. Yes she told me that after I left it, but before the announcement of my leaving was announced at the kingdom hall.

When Was The First Time You Ever Got Drunk?
by 1234 ini was 20 years old and at bethel for just a couple of months.
i was really depressed, as i was finding out what bethel was really all about.
i drank a whole bottle of cold duck, after a long hot subway ride back to brooklyn.

I can honestly say I have never been drunk in my 51 years of life. I don't care for the taste, nor does it agree with me. Although once when I was a teen someone spiked some food I was eating and ended up getting stoned. It was not a pleasant feeling either.

What Did You Choose Jehovah Over?
by minimus insome jws believe they have the truth.
they alone understand god, jehovah.
they are very happy being jehovah’s witnesses.👍👌..... many others realize what they have given up for jehovah, to belong to the jehovah’s witness religion.

What Did You Choose Jehovah Over?
When I discovered that the "troof" was lies, I walked away. Life is just too short for that nonsense.

Kids Without Rules
by minimus ini see a lot of kids that rarely get discipline.
they are allowed to do whatever they want and if someone says something to them they don’t want to hear, they blow them off, ignore them or engage in disrespectful talk.. what’s wrong with today’s parents??
they are producing a generation of entitled brats!.

Tameria2001
I only had three rules for my children.
Rule 1. Treat others the way you want to be treated, but don't allow anyone to walk over you.
Rule 2. Don't get caught.
Rule 3. If you do something wrong, inform me first before I find out from someone else.
