I havn't been in a KH in over 5 years. However, no one knows me here, I could go and be anyone I want to be. I could go in street clothes and a tye dye. Check out the sisters, charm one into studying with me ALONE. Well you get the point, I could make up anything and no one would know my past. It might be good for kicks.

i don't want to be an alarmist or anything... .
but i read this article in the economist today that argued it is only a matter of time until china and japan exchange shots over some small islands in between the two countries, it could escalate to full scale war, and the united states is treaty bound to come to aid of japan.
on top of that the united states is making diplomatic visits to various countries borderning china in a move that is viewed extremely negatively in beijing.
I believe this is worth watching, and agree that China and Japan are just chest pounding. Many have bet that Japan will collapse, and have so far lost, but this guy is thinking a year or two.

I've been reading the posts about the yearbook here, and yea, things are a lot clearer when you are out of lala land. I hope your fade is going well, and is not too destructive to get out. The org is NOT Spirit directed (among other things) and we all start a new journey after knowing TTATT.

Just a reply to Terry about having one foot in each world, it's more like dipping a toe in the other world once and a while to keep peace, at least that's how it is in my current situation.

i have been an inactive witness for 4 glorious years, and the spark that began my fade out of the organziation was this site and paul's jwfacts.com.
it opened my eyes to a whole new world of insight, and i discovered that there were so many people out there like me - still a "spiritual" individual, but completely disgusted with the jw organization.

this might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).
please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).
i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).
Good thread. My first doubt, ironiclly, was before I came in. I accepted a study, but wasn't serious the first time. Some bros would come by once a week, and we'd drink some beers during it. (I would do some bong hits before hand). Anyway, they would leave the mags, and later my friends and I would make fun of the pictures, ect.
Later I had a crisis, and turned to the Borg, and they love bombed me, and it worked. I skiped the red flags for 10 years. After being in a messed up hall for a few years, and with the help of the internet, the fog cleared, and I started having my "never again" moments.

I vanished and cut all ties from the cong where my card is, no family there. They could probably find my address if they really tried, but it's been five years. The main thing is my JW parent who would be heartbroken if found out I was out of the org.

yes, i was going to them, and i was foolish to think i could never get caught.
i have been visiting them for some years, not a daily problems, but occasionaly every month or so - still a problem wethere its once or a hundred times.
Sorry to hear about her reaction, it seems she is reviling you. (In JW world, that would be a DFing offence) Obviously, there is a deeper problem. I hope counseling helps, and wish you the best.

Fortunately, I never married, making my ditching a lot easier, but the borg has got some of my family in a total train wreck, and I feel for all those suffering. Shunning is wrong.
What got me really annoyed lately was seeing the movie on jw.org on the annual meeting, and seeing the bling on the GB. At least three of them had gold rings on their right hand! Who's paying for that?
