  in a recent thread someone mentioned that the wtbts uses mind control techniques.

  do you think this is a conscious ploy?

  if it is it would mean that the leaders of my religion (i am still an active jw) set out consciously to control people.

  To clarify, I’d say yes, it is deliberate, but they don’t realize that it is. Just like a narcissist will use Machiavellian manipulation, but they are unaware that they are doing it. Dark Triad

  This is a subject that I’ve been contemplating, as my deprogramming out of the BORG is complete, now I’m deprogramming out of a culture!!! It’s gaining an awareness so as to become transparent to myself. I’m still working on it, and the need to take action is pressing.
  Writers such as Chris Hedges and especially Morris Berman really help in seeing the reality of The culture of the US. Google them, and you’ll find content that relates to the issue of “mind control” or the “programming imposed by a culture” (or as it relates to the BORG.)
  
  As far as the original question, I think the answer is no, I don't think is is deliberate. I think they are “buying the lie”, so yes, they are “aware”, but adopt a false value. Like a drug addict that says “I’ll quit next week”, but never does. This is illustrated by Sartre’s “bad faith,” This ties in with the “programming” of “we’re the chosen people”, which as I remarked, is related to the idea of American Exceptionalism. Remember, this is a US born religion, and both, the US, and the BORG use mind control (programming) to maintain and grow the false narrative.

  Take note of this video.

  When there is insufficient reward, there will be dissonance. The person will love the things they have to suffer for. Note what is said between 4:30 to 4:45 on the video.

  It illustrates how the borg can get away with failures and changes.

  an eldub recently said, " sure, we have changed many beliefs in the last 100 years, but christendom has had 2,000 years to clean up their act an they haven't done it.".

  this was prompted by today's wt session which mentioned nathan knorr's eager acceptance of rutherford's refinements concerning the 1,260 days.

  of course, he also said that he can't really keep up with everything.

  wt now sending portable music devices to malawi so they can sing the new song.

  Many can't read anyway, and this is way better than picture magazines. This has lots of propaganda power, even now. Remember it was radio propaganda that was a big part in the Rwanda genocide. (just illustrating it's power)

  I think this is merely a propaganda machine for underdeveloped nations so as to increase numbers, since membership is failing in developed nations.  Also helps keep hq busy with new tech.

  Malaysian flight crash in Ukraine VS Flight 93 in Pennsylvania

  i wonder if anybody else has wondered about the differences between those 2 flights?

  in the malaysian flight that crashed from 30,000 feet high, tons of wreckage, body parts, bodies, documents, etc, all over the place.

  yet in the pa flight 93, just a crater in the ground, no bodies, everything supposedly vaporized.

  I'm not an expert, but have been keenly observing this. First, we do not know what the cause of the explosion was, evidence points to a Ukrianian fighter jet missle. (dispite what the media is saying) Here is a good information source. There is graphic video of the crash site, but it is too gorey to post here. Most of the evidence on flight 93 is not available, however I think a straight crash into the ground would obliteate a lot, including bodies. An example is the Jenni Rivera crash, where there was only tiny peices of debris (and her body). In looking at the mh17 debris and bodys, it would seem that after a catostrophic explosion, the airplane was ripped apart going over 500mph. Although they would pass out instantly, that speed is over double of the worst tornado. Many even had their clothing ripped from them. The seats, belts, everything was torn up, they were long dead before they hit the ground. However, there were some that were clothed and still in tact, considering they hit the ground at appx. 200mph. I'm sure if you googled, you would find the 2 videos. They are not for the faint. I even hope this post was not too graphic

  I knew him. I wonder if he regrets shunning his own (fleshly) brother. His brother, (name withheld), was DF'ed a few years ago for apostacy. For years, he was a "partaker". I guess telling the audience about how JW's distroy family ties wouldn't fit in with the "brainwashing".

  donut, you don't need to speculate, here is one small whisleblower example. If it wasn't profitable, they wouldn't do it. Just like they dropped farming, much cheaper to feed people with mass produced food industry. Corperate Cult.
