  so yesterday my mom had be update her tablet and the jw library app (she is technologically challenged).

  after i did, she told me if i knew how to get the jw chanel on tv.

  (i assume she meant those weird videos the gb has been releasing).

  It is the number one religious channel on Roku, next to all the other religious channels for the public to view. It's blatant televangelism, but the more correct term is (image based multimedia) propaganda. Actually, all propaganda is image based.

  But in answer, the easiest way to get jw tv is to get a roku.

  the usa is undoubtedly the strongest military power in the world, and has often been willing to use that power against other nations, some historians count 187 foreign wars in 200 years, and this youtube video lists the wars the us has fought in the twentieth century, most of which, (in the earliest part of the 20th c) it can be argued, were won by the usa.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q51nfakme-g. this is not an argument about the rightness or wrongness of any war.

  the argument is why the mightiest ever military power, a political power that controls overwhelming destructive forces, a power that claims to stand on the side of its god, does not win wars?

  There is a lot of great writing on this subject (by social critics). Check out Chris Hedges, esp "War is a force that gives us meaning". Also, Morris Berman, Noam Chomsky ect. Your paper might get pretty thick.

  I believe in God. I used to think along your lines about JWs being close to the truth, but not any more. They simply don't demonstrate mercy. I stumbled on a statement that sums it up well.

  "If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled. "

  I would say that "others" includes nature too.
  

  Also, there was a recent topic that stated "I'd rather have questions I can't answer, then answers I can't question."

  so i had a discussion with my mother about this, and she claims that because of this that: "we are surely living in the last days right now" while i must admit myself that the situation seem chaotic, i don't want to believe that it is the last days.

  so question is, how do i face an opinion like that?

  The problem I have with the "it's not that bad" (video) is that it marginalizes the suffering component. It's nothing more than intellectual masturbation.

  The "last days" argument is broad. For a more specific understanding, it just so happens that Chris Hedges wrote about this week.

  They are simply being obedient. They didn't break the law, just common morality. What is being accomplished is, besides character assassination, is to expose WT's (woefully deficient) policy and subsequently the blind obedience.
