I was 16 when I first had sex, and I'm perfectly OK with that. It wasn't with a dirty old woman though, although my GF at the time was a tad bit older than me (1.5 yrs).

Prostitution is legal in some areas, like Nevada. It brings in a ton of money for the state. From what I have read, the taxes on it pay for the entire law enforcement for the state. It was in the San Francisco Chronicle, so i'm not sure how credible it is. Too bad there are SO many people who have such hang-ups with sex, that it won't be legal. Not that I'd frequent such places, too many other things to do (no pun intended) in Nevada (Las Vegas) than have sex with some whore.

Should People With Mental Health Problems Be Given More Leeway?

my knowledge of mental health difficulties is confined to my own experiences with depression.. thankfully, i feel that i was able to eventually identify it's source and deal with the problem.

i read lot's of books and camne to the conclusion that i was suffering from a neurosis.. apparently, neurotic people recognise that they have a problem and often seek to remedy that problem.. i read also that there are people who suffer from a psychosis.

psychotic people think that the problems they encounter are everyone elses fault and don't take responsibilty for their situation.

Well if someone is judged by how they treat people, and if they are mentally ill, they could treat people in a way that would cause you to dislike them. They could be a bi-polar and be super happy one day, but the next day tell you to leave them alone.

They might not have control of it either. So its similar to disliking someone who doesn't have 2 legs because they can't run as fast as you like.

when i was a jdub i used to write down whatever hours i wanted to write down.

when i was pioneering for 7 years i would add a few hours to my time each month so that i wouldn?t fall too far behind.

even when i wasn?t pioneering though i would inflate my hours a bit sometimes so i wouldn?t have the elders hounding me about my time and also so i could hold a ?position?.

I think it would be funny to put something outragous, like 8hrs a day, for the whole week, and maybe 12 hrs on the wekend. Say its all informal witnessing. Just to mess witht he cong average. You can incorporate it in your talks. "I put in 8 hrs of service a day" and still hold a full time job! Of course they couldn't accuse you of lying unless they had two witnesses watching your every action for the entire week :)

Drinking age should be below driving age though! People should learn to handle their liquor before they handle a car!

Would the teen pregnancy rate increase if legal age of consent and legal age of alcohol consumption be droped to 16? I know they are drinking and "doing it" already, but not out in the open.

Should we reduce the voting age to 16 too? If someone is old enough to have sex, are they old enough to vote, or sign contracts? Would Justin Timberlake be our next president?

There were many test blasts before the bombs were detonated. Are you sure Japan was unaware of these blasts? And what would that prove.

Exactly! How can people say how others will behave in a situation? How can you say the war would have ended if they detonated bombs outside of the city? Japan wasn't stupid. They knew about the race to make the bomb. Germany was trying to make one too, and probably would have before the US if it wasn't for some outstanding Norweigans

Its easy to sit back and say what would have worked without being in the situation, and looking back 50 years and saying "you should have done..."

Do we have some sort of obligation to assist them?

Nope, this is a public forum and we don't have an oblicagation to help them. We can if we feel up to it, out of the kindness of our heart. We could, if we wanted to, have sympathy for them, but thats up to us too.
