My idea is to harness the power of tides/waves. Probably a hazard to marine life, but have generators on teh bottom of the ocean that have cables going up from the to bouys (sp?) on the surface. The waves pull the bouys(sp?) up, spinning a turbine generating power. Works all the time, and no harmful emmissions.

Drop it. If you are married and no longer wish to be with the person you chose, leave them first. If you have children, it might be wiser to suck it up and stay with him for them. Cheaters suck, don't become one. Settle your differences first, then move on. But move on to someone not married, don't be a homewrecker. As was said earlier, she will ALWAYS be the mother of their children, etc....

Shoulda done this when I left...
by truthseeker1 ini should have done this when i left:.
during my last talk, give it real sarcastic.
perhaps talk about the un and really emphasize about how the wt says they are no part of it, then read excerpts of the un letter.

During my last talk, give it real sarcastic. Perhaps talk about the UN and really emphasize about how the WT says they are no part of it, then read excerpts of the UN letter. Talk about the company the WT owns who make bombs for the navy, then say "if you people still believe that this is GOD's only orginization, you're F*&kin nuts". Put my bible down and walk out the side door.

Apostate terminology
by Mum inmy daughter and i, fun-loving apostates that we are, have some terms we use regarding the wt organization and other cults.
i would like my fellow posters here to tell us their terms, buzz words, etc., to add to our list: to get the ball rolling, two of our favorites are:.
cookie-cutter theology.

I don't want to overdo it. Like a teenage girl right outa catholic school and all. I just want to ENJOY my life for a change. its scary living a life you don't want to live, seeing it waste away through your fingers. I'm glad I got out when I did. I do feel like something is empty inside of me, but thats because it was part of my life for so long. Hey, if someone had a tumor on their back the size of a grapefruit and it got cut out, wouldn't they feel like something is missing? Thats how I feel. Its like a weight has been lifted. I'm not used to not being oppressed. It feels different, not bad.

I DISTRIBUTED 1,000 FLYERS!
by Mary ini'm tired as hell today.
yesterday, i typed up a flyer saying how jehovah's witnesses' protect pedophiles, and how many who have spoken out trying to protect children from wt policy have been excommunicated from the church.
i didn't want to make it too long, but i ended by saying "how would you feel if on saturday morning, a knock comes to the door and your 6 year old runs to open it.

Its good that you are doing this. Most of the world doesn't give a rats ass about the WT. They know nothing about it, save no holidays and door to door work. They think it is just another religion, some even praise them for their bravery to go out and preach. I look at it as cowardice. If you were in a congregation, would it show more bravery to go out knocking at random doors, preaching to people you never met and never will see again or standing up to the WT and telling them you didn't feel right about it. Sure it seems like it would be hard to go door to door, but once you overcome that INITIAL fear, it really isn't that scary. Most people arn't home, most of the rest just say no thanks and close the door. There isn't anythign to be fearful. What to be fearful about is NOT going out. Thats when all the social pressures come from, from within. I think that there is greater pressure pushing people to go door to door and to stay in the WT than to leave or stop going out in service. So when I hear people say that JWs are strong willed, i chuckle because I think they do it because they are weak willed....

Its been a few weeks since I went to a meeting. It feels strange not having a whole bunch to do every night, but I am liking it. It is starting to feel normal again. One of the hard parts of being a dub was 'the no part of the world' mentality. I was wierd, seeing everyone live normal lives and I couldn't have anythign to do with them. Everyone on TV, everyone at work, and everyone on school were 'bad association'. I wanted to be part of them, be a part of society. It felt weird not to contribute in any way to the society I lived in. I felt like a leech. Living in a society that I was no part of, not contributing to it. It is feeling pretty good now. I am socializing with people that i WANT to be with. I think that leaving the WT was the smartest thing I have ever done. Sadly it has cost me much, but I am young and can rebuild everything I have lost in a short while.

Invisible return of Christ - ???
by ChristianObserver ini have heard this mentioned before, but wondered if anyone could enlighten me about this - please?.
what exactly do jehovah's witnesses believe about the return of christ - do they believe that it was an invisible return and if so, when - and has this belief changed at all?.
any links to relevant publications and quotes would be much appreciated - or links to where this has been discussed previously :o).

According to JW Lore, Jesus has returned invisibly. I can't quite remember if it was 1914(satan kicked outa heaven) or1919(GB released from prison).

Disturbing Dub Quote...
by SYN inheh, while we'd love to have kids, we aren't too keen on the idea in this system...but the only way to guarentee that is to practice abstinence and we aren't too keen on that idea either, therefore we've "planned" in a way for it, but aren't planning on it exactly either... .
this is very disturbing indeed.
if you're going to bring another human being into this world, it should be a carefully considered decision and done at the appropriate time, when both partners feel it is right and you can support the child.

truthseeker1
In other words, they want to sound theocratic by not wanting kids in this system, but don't fully believe and don't want to throw their chances of ever having kids away.
